Evan was amazing. Very well made.
OP liberals are already on your side, so you should focus on the other side.
You've got learn to think like a gun-loving conservative, and then target them.
I thought the one where the modern day shooter used a slow, old-fashioned muzzleloader was utterly brilliant. Really confronts the narrow mindedness of gun nuts when it comes to regulating modern weaponry. Very tough to argue that point.
JC1 is right. Change the narrative by making it about responsible gun owners for gun safety measures. I’m a shooter and can’t stand the NRA. Neither do 98 percent of the shooters I know. We’re all pro responsibility which means we support strong background checks, closing gun show loopholes, education and safety, mandatory gun training etc.
If at the very least, we can make gun ownership as hard as getting a license, that would be a huge huge move. (Tests, training, background, insurance)
The real problem is the liberal narrative. It’s naive to think guns will ever magically disappear in America.
The pop up gun shop grey did
Gun Shop was really eye opening. Not only saying that because Grey creates it either.
Define “worked well”? Nothing has changed. Isn’t this a creative field based on results? Show me how the laws have changed. Have people turned in their guns, or has it gone the other way with sales rocketing anytime the subject of gun control makes it into the first two blocks on the news.
The work that was done for Sandy Hook Promise.
Anti-gun and gun control are two different things. Make that distinction clear in your ad, and you'll be set. As it is now, people think that if you want gun regulations, you want to take their guns away. That is not the case, imo.
Neither video nor campaign, this Edward Gorey update cuts to bone. https://www.madmagazine.com/blog/2018/10/09/sneak-preview-the-ghastlygun-tinies
@MP1 just hearing the words "gun control" will make conservatives tune out.
Change it for "responsible gun ownership", or something along those lines
That bait and switch was fantastic.
@CD1 - have you got a link?
Very valid points on the stance to take guys. I wholeheartedly agree.
Check out Teddy Gun by FCB
I worked on a campaign once in a red state for the department of health regarding gun safety because of the high rate of gun suicide deaths. It encouraged things I think we can all get behind: disassembling guns, storing them in a safe, or ideally storing them off-site at a shooting range. Simultaneously while encouraging therapy and not to suffer alone. It was really eye-opening and inspiring to get bipartisan support
@SVP1- what do you think we can do better in the way we build creative to see some results?
Evan by bbdo is the best. Also love Brady campaign from Droga.
A recent one I remember is where a former employee walks into an office with a musket, but it misfires and reloading takes what seems like a lifetime.
Edit: CD1 mentioned it. Here’s a link: https://youtu.be/LORVfnFtcH0
With no no policies or legislation passed none of it has been effective. So I guess nothing is that good yet.
