Hey Fish,

What are the things YOU (creatives) think are the most important factors in a beautiful & well executed portfolio? We’re putting together our next AAR session and it’s the “10 Portfolio Commandments”. We’ll be adding everyone’s responses to the mix and sharing with the community at our next AAR. Thank you!

No stolen work.

Not being snarky. The role on any project should be accurately stated.

There is disagreement over whether to shout out collaborators on your own portfolio. I personally like to see that and believe it shows class.

Other than that, I'd say keep it simple.

Ditch the 'Contact Me' where someone has to fill in the boxes. I'm trying to hire you, not contact customer service. Have a simple email address that is linked, so all I have to do is click on it. Or even a phone number that I can message directly.

I’d love to see a great example if either of you have one! Always trying to find the right balance on those idea intros.

Easy navigation. Simplicity. Not too much work (chose the best of the bunch).

-Well designed site, if you’re on the art side, aesthetics. Esp if the work is what it is, so showcase more with site.
-Good UX...Easy to navigate, easy to move through sections, pages.
-Edit. 15+ thumbnails seems a lot even as you’re senior.

Are different skill sets in demand now due to pandemic? Are agencies looking for creatives who have more versatility, heavy digital let’s say? Will a book that’s heavy broadcast get bypassed due to pandemic obstacles and possibly more budget-conscious clients?

What do you consider a good emergency fund when you have a higher HHI and higher living expenses. Between rent, childcare, bills and other expenses we probably spend $13K a month. Dual income though so likelihood of both losing jobs at the same time is low but still. Would you consider 100K too much for an emergency fund with those estimated expenses ?
