Any Account folks work on commission? I’m exploring roles and got an offer I was excited about at a creative agency that has a commission model - which I’ve never encountered. Any clues to what’s fair / common / pros / cons much appreciated. I’ve confirmed with them several times this is an account lead role and not biz dev / new biz, so just feeling surprised it is so close to a 50/50 split too 🧐

Those of you who left for industry, what do you work towards in your role? I was reflecting on my time in public and there was always something, whether it was a new section in the file, getting more client contact, getting invited to a big golf outing, running the jobs, managing the jobs, etc. I worry that leaving would leave me bored and not motivated to hit any sort of goal. I’m burnt out and worry that I’m making a rash decision lol. Thoughts?

I’ve been in the HVAC industry for 11 years with 10 of those in the field as a technician. As a technician I was considered very capable and was always considered one of the best where ever I worked. I’ve moved on to sales and currently work inside sales at a manufacturer rep. I’m still searching for the outside sales role that I want but I keep running into the “I lack outside sales experience”. Currently A at KPMG (<2 YOE) with high certainty of promotion to SA in Sept. Enjoy working with my team, great WLB, and strong network for someone at my level. Current base = 75k with promotion bringing it to 92k minimum.

I have two offers at ~105k base, 15k signing for C and SA roles at other B4 which is a ~50% raise from current base but ~10-15% raise from SA base. Is it worth it to hop this early in my career or should I stick it out for a while to build more experience?

I’m currently working at a T2 and have recently applied to all three MBB’s at the consultant level- each for the NYC office. I’ve been rejected at the resume stage for all three and not sure what went wrong. I have an M7 MBA, good work experience, and applied with a referral each time.
