For those who exit to industry, do you find recruiters lowball? They often quote a salary based on YOE and their standard pay - often lower because their salary progression is slower. 4YOE at consulting you make $120k~$150k but they quote $100k because that’s how they pay their homegrown analysts. Nobody thus far thinks 4y at consulting is worth 5-6 YOE, I’ve even met someone who only match me to their 2-3 YOE analyst because they think their program is more prestigious and want to hold me back.
Any idea about graduate engineer trainee role at VI (Vodafone Idea) ? Will it be IT or electrical/etc ?

Hi all! Will any kind fish be willing to read my resume and give me feedback? I’ve been applying to different position but haven’t had any luck. Someone mentioned it is too specialized but I would love that a new set of eyes could read it to make it more appealing to consulting recruiters. Would really appreciate it :)
What level would you move to in a pharma company (strategy role) with 6 years of experience in Life Sciences consulting? I’m seeing ADs with at least 5 years more experience. Manager profiles seem to be more aligned with my experience, but I’m not sure if the salary is higher for manager than where I’m at (62k base)
Hello - I am thinking about taking an internal mobility opportunity for a lob strategy role. Any idea of a VP salary for this type of role and how/when to discuss an increase during the process. JPMorgan Chase
7 YOE considering KPMG advisory role. What’s an acceptable base salary range in a MCOL location. And what should it be in HCOL. New to advisory
Any mid-level copywriters looking for work? We had another writer leave and are looking to fill the position. It's a small shop with incredible creative leadership and fun food accounts. Trust me, you’ll get a lot of opportunities and have a blast. PM a link to your book and I'll tell you more.
Have an offer from a startup in a high growth space; however, I would be taking a 14% pay cut for the role. The managers are nice, the team is small, and good promotion opportunities. Any advice here? Role is out of Austin.
Senior Buyer whose specialty is electronic components with 27 years of experience. Recently ended up in the medical world and realizing I under sold myself. Management asked me to do an analysis and come up with a number. My current salary is 82k. In our industry with the same experience etc. jobs are posted for up to 108k. Management mentioned that they want to keep people and they pay their worth. I got this position through a recruiter. Any information good bad or indifferent is appreciated!
Currently looking for jr copywriter job, but I’m seeing mostly copywriter jobs that require 2-3 yrs. My other option seems to be an internship. What’s the likelihood of a jr copywriter position?
Anyone go from audit at B4 to a non-audit role at a young, growing company and can offer some advice on finding roles/selling yourself for the position?
Looked at a product management role on LinkedIn, and it had 900 applications within 8 hours of being posted. Is this level of competition normal for the job market? Any advice on how to stand out?
Anyone here from the UK? I'm on a H1B and ain't been home in a fair while. Was hoping to get back for Christmas, given it looks like travel is opening up (at some point?) In November, but my immigration counsel seemed dubious on how easy it would be to renew the H1B to get back to the States in a reasonable time. While country looks like bedlam atm tbh.
MBB helps their employees find an exit opp via alumni connections and an internal job search. Why doesn’t Big 4/ACN/IBM do that? It’s looked down upon to say you are interested in leaving.
Technical Architect Director at Salesforce in HCOL. Looking for industry role with fast pace, great culture, $350K TC. Nothing has had all three criteria. Should I adjust my expectations?
Hi folks, My brother joined TCS 3 month back.. from day 1 he is in project. Deployed in client project. But they have given him admin role instead of development. they haven't provided any KT also they are not helping in anything like getting license etc. And forcing them to take task. He had discussion with product owner , architect. But no solution . Still they are forcing. Also role is independent and nobody in team knows that work. Please suggest what to do in this case.
Does anybody have any tips about finding and working with recruiters? Right now I’m applying on my own but am considering reaching out to some headhunters end of June. I am afraid of dealing with people that are pushy and only in it for the hiring commission. What was your experience like working with headhunters?
Does hiring (in industry) pickup in Q1 given new budgets allocated? Or is it just random lol
What's the starting salary for audit/tax associates in big 4 in LA? Regular groups, not specialty
With all this extra, often unnecessary, communication while my company works remote, I’ve been having an awful time getting actual work done. So I’ve started to block off major chunks of my day every morning and put up an autorespond message saying I’m focusing on a deliverable, but will be available to respond at x time and if it’s an emergency to text. HOLY SHIT. What a game changer. I can actually get work done guilt free. I realize not everyone is able to do this, but if you can, do it.
I would like to organize a promotion celabration for my coworkers. Not something we normally do in our country. What do you do other than drink? Any tips?
How do I tell my coach that my depression and crying half the day is why my utilization is lower than expected :( she set up a meeting for tomorrow and I have anxiety
I recently got a verbal offer from KPMG strategy. Is that more prestigious than like, most other firms? Like, I know MBB is done with recruiting; I feel like below MBB for name recognition is the Big 4 and other firms aren’t as reputable. I’m trying to decide whether or not I should interview and apply to other firms or just take this one (assuming a written offer ever comes along). Also, I prioritize work culture and exit opportunities over salary, but don’t want to be paid below poverty line.
Anybody have insights on the Deloitte interview process? Specifically the case study portion.
Working remotely from Canada on tourist visa? I am planning to take a 15 day trip to Canada from US but most of that time I will be at my relatives place and not going out much. I was thinking I'll work from there for a week and take rest off? Tourists are generally not authorized to work but this is remote work and my employer has no offices in Canada.
Hi Folks, What is the salary band for first year senior manager in assurance in GT and KGS, I am in interviewing process with both firms and need to quote a number, so want to get an idea of what I should be asking?
Outside my day job; I am journalist/feature writer ✍🏾. I am interviewing a Black NBA 🏀 exec-alumni & non-profit cofounder who is working to foster D&I in sports and entertainment (corporate). What questions should I ask him?
Do you think firms will update expense policies to allow for reimbursable overtime meals in the remote environment (rather than only allowing reimbursement for meals consumed on site)?
F, just got rolled off & having a hard time feeling like it’s not bc I challenged M Mgr. Have seen him disrespect F Mgr in front of the team and make her visibly upset. Feels sexist. First proj @ D. ☹️
Anyone want to skype prep case interviews for a month or so? UG FT recruiting, intern at T2 this summer but trying to get MBB :)
Currently in financial services tax WAM federal group at B4, manager. Seriously considering the exit and have been applying actively in various industries (not the typical PE or hedge funds in house role). Which industry is the best in terms of growth opportunities and pay? Fintech? Info/technology? E-learning? My end goal is becoming a head of tax and I want to choose my first industry role wisely. Don't want to get pigeonholed into a dying industry.
Turned in my resignation today and it felt great. To the fish out there that are still searching - lots of love and luck. And if you can, try to stick it out without getting fired for a job (cont'd)
