Hey fishes, hope you are doing great. I'm a DevOps/sre Engineer, with 12 YOE in the UK. I'm currently working in a Reputed tech company. Not FAANG(Facebook, AWS, apple, Netflix,Google). I would like to pursue my career in these above similar top tech companies. Would like to know your opinions on preparation and what kind of salaries can be expected and is there any WLB.
preparation: I'm sure that I'm bad at datastructures and algos.
Sys Design:ok
But my role has nothing to do with too much SD

Don't know about Netflix or Apple, but
WLB: Google > Facebook > AWS from what I hear from my contacts.
Salary: None too far from the others, but in HCOL you can expect somewhere around 350k total comp. Could be higher or lower based on specific circumstances, and that's assuming you qualify as a Google L5.
Prep: Familiarize yourself with data structures, system design, algorithms - all within your specialization, of course. Prepare to share experiences you've gone through and overcome. Make sure you can easily break down a problem placed before you and explain your thought process as you go through it.

What are other top tech companies: @microsoft , @gitlab etc,

Thank you. Datastructures and algorithms are nowhere related to my day to day tasks. Architecture, system design is something that I do and can work on that , my speciality is into DevOps tool set and logically bringing new tools, design and implement these with a more of Infrastructure as code and a bit of scripting.

That totally makes sense. Looking at the leetcode, a few years ago i was able to do only easy and could solve some medium with a little help.
I really wish they give me setup complex kubernetes or design system for an application on AWS.
I'll try to see if I can improve my algo and DS. Thank you

Kinda unique situation. I received an offer to return to the company I was with before b school (small professional services firm, not well known) after over a year in consulting post-MBA. I know the people there and like them a lot, and the role is interesting as they enter high growth mode and pivot to becoming more of a product company through M&A. My concern is (cont. in comments)

I have built social media and influencer programs for starts up for the last 8 years. I recently had a very unprofessional experience recently going through an interview process. I had 3 rounds of interviews already, did an amazing case, my last interview was scheduled with the CMO, the day before the interview I am told that the CMO wants someone who has big brand experience like Taco Bell or Nike. It blew my mind because this is a start-up too & that my qualifications don’t even matter.
