Kinda unique situation. I received an offer to return to the company I was with before b school (small professional services firm, not well known) after over a year in consulting post-MBA. The offer is for head of strategy and ops, same salary as my current salary (~200k), plus options and 25% bonus. I know the people there and like them a lot, and the role is interesting as they enter high growth mode and pivot to becoming more of a product company through M&A. My concern is (cont. in comments)

I have built social media and influencer programs for starts up for the last 8 years. I recently had a very unprofessional experience recently going through an interview process. I had 3 rounds of interviews already, did an amazing case, my last interview was scheduled with the CMO, the day before the interview I am told that the CMO wants someone who has big brand experience like Taco Bell or Nike. It blew my mind because this is a start-up too & that my qualifications don’t even matter.

When people add percents to their resume, where are they pulling the numbers out of? Like for example reduced costs by $xxx,xxx , or improved performance by 20%, or increased revenue by 15%? If you’re just fixing tickets and working on product feature enhancements (what I’m primarily doing), where do you get the numbers to put on your resume from? I haven’t updated my resume yet to include my current and first job, so it’s gonna be the first relevant work experience I put on there

Should I specialize in Blockchain or AI? I’m a freshman in a CS degree and I can’t decide. My main argument to choose blockchain is the easy entry with little experience and high salary, I plan on growing my skills during the bear market and get a job once the market recovers. For people who love reading technical books on software architecture, design, programming languages and frameworks, etc - what do you read your books on, paper or screen? I find ebooks convenient for most of the things as it is easier to search for notes and annotations. On the other hand, paper books are a great companion by the desk for a quick reference.

I’m currently working as an software engineer intern as a lead on the front end side at a start up company and trying to find my next opportunity when this internship ends, but I been applying to ton of places and not getting much interview request. Hello, Need some advice. I am largely a self taught full stack developer, and quite comfortable with coding. However, when under pressure at work, I crumble and go in a rabbit hole and need assistance from someone in team to pull me out, so much so that it negatively gives impression that I am slacking.
