Staffed on a project: Sushi everyday! On the beach: Cereal and PB&J sandwiches everyday!
Is it unprofessional to have a bed visible on zoom calls? About to go full time remote but my guest room/office layout won’t really allow me to rearrange the room. I usually move my desk for client calls but it’s annoying. Overthinking it? Does anyone actually care?
It’s well known that the difference in work culture in Europe vs US is quite different. Can you comment on some of the differences when it comes to work/life balance, competitiveness, client dynamics

For those of you who have successfully started your own agencies — how did you start? As in, how’d you get your first RFP from a client?
As a staff on the consulting side, does anyone else find it awkward to join a zoom call with the client before the manager/sm joins in?
Awkward Questions from Client: So you're out of CO right, do you smoke weed? ... No, and not appropriate in the middle of a meeting
Hey guys! Has anyone made the pivot from Merchandising to Project Management? I’d love to chat as it is something I am looking to do. Thanks! :)
Currently working in Project Management and have about 8 YOE. Slalom approached me for delivery leadership consulting role. What can I expect to make approximately?
hypothetical: account brings a decent brief with a decent budget. client is allegedly “open minded” and “reasonable”. needs a big idea. offsite brainstorm, where do you go and what do you bring?
I would be joining IBM as a project manager. I wanted to move again to technical role in some time. Please share your experiences how easy is it to move. I want to move to Data engineering side. Your response would be appreciated 🙏🙏
How has your WFH experience during the pandemic impacted (or not) your sense of loyalty / willingness to sacrifice for: - your team - your client - your firm
What is your least favorite kind of client?
Anyone here a Project Manager that utilizes Asana as your PM tool? Please let me know if you’d be willing to connect!
Hi guys, I am due to start working at EY soon within audit. I will be commuting to the office by train when in the Birmingham office. This will be from Leicester. Usually if a commute is about 1.5 hours+, Mazars authorises hotels. Is there a similar policy at EY? When not in the office I would prefer to drive to clients, not sure if me being in Leicester affects whether they will tell me to suck up an extended commute? Would a mileage claim be from the office to the client? Thanks!
Hi everyone, Does anyone know about the org. structure at WNS in the Analytics field? I am having 3.3 yrs of exp and am given the offer of "Deputy Manager - Analytics". Can you help me know if the role is fine with respect to my experience? It would also be great if you could help me understand the org. structure or hierarchy of roles over there?
I've been passed up for promotion. I know that if my mental health had been better this past year, I probably would have been promoted. Spent too many days just trying to survive rather than excel. 😡
Genuine question: What are the most common exit options at Google BizOps? (1) For internal transfer to PM, those teams seem to prefer to hire Google engineers. (2) For internal transfer to Chief of Staff, why those teams don’t promote their own Strategy & Op folks? (3) For BizOps internal promotion, there are not many Director positions. (4) For leaving Google, I don’t know where people usually go… Please share your thoughts / correct me if I’m wrong. Thanks!
Is it normal for a Partner to tell me “you know this will delay your promotion by 6 months” a day before my STD for mental health reasons? (P.S. He assumed I took the leave for mental health reasons although I never mentioned that to him). He also said “people like you leave and never come back so make sure you talk to your sponsors before making any decision, there are people who are excited to work with you”.. the conversation is on replay in my head
Guy comes in with a 457 plan, all his money in a 4% fixed account. Wants NO MARKET risk and this insurance company hopes he annuitizes for $2500/ month. What would you rec for this guy?
Looking to move into a Director/SVP level role in industry focused on Analytics. I've got 15+ YoE with a combination of MC/Strategy/Tech Implementation/Data Science experience. Mostly focused on leading multiple teams and growing client relationships. Has anyone made a similar move? Would love to learn what you like/dislike about it.
I’m a current intern (extended from summer) whose signed an offer, then got an offer from another firm (so going midsize to Big 4), how do I go about telling them and can i break a contract like that?
Benefits of wearing masks: 1) Reduce spread of Covid and save lives 2) By reducing spread, we can open up the economy sooner and get people back to work. Note: we didn’t wear masks during the flu season because Covid is 10x deadlier. Any questions?
I graduated with my bachelor's in HRM and I'm wondering if there are any certifications or trainings I could do before I lock down on the SHRM-CP. I recently became HIPAA certified for my company and that got me thinking about what else I could do to add to my resume. Looking for good stepping stone certificates.
Just wanted to S/O to Accenture Strategy for raising base comp. Forcing our leadership to say “if ACN is doing it, we gotta do something!” You are the real MVP!
I’ve been working in the HR space and am interested in pursuing an MBA to transition into Human Capital consulting/ Change management/ Talent technology and analytics. I’ve been seeing a few T30 schools that have a focus in those areas including Vanderbilt, Rice, BYU etc. Would it be better to pursue an MBA program highly ranked in that concentration area or to try to get into a school ranked higher overall? Thanks!
Taking some time off. Need some book recommendations. Some light interesting non-fiction. No self help or management books. Just interesting topics that won’t make me think about work.
Got a slightly low offer on a job I interviewed for. Is it just generally accepted that offers have some wiggle room to negotiate? Would be happy with another 10-15k.
Do schools tend to have any weekend interview slots? Nervous about requesting days off on such short notice if I’m lucky enough to get invited to interview.
I’m done trying to compensate for a broken system. I know it means that the kids will suffer from a substandard education, but as long as they think we will pick up the slack it will never change.
Is agency culture relatively the same across the country? Are agencies in smaller markets a little more chill (better work life balance, less chaos, etc.)? I'm getting a little burnt out and I'm not sure if it's a NYC thing or an advertising thing.
Went in for a scan yesterday because I was having spotting and cramping at 12 weeks. The OB saw fluid behind the baby’s neck and is referring us to see a high risk doctor immediately. NIPT was negative. I’m panicking. Have any of you been through this?
