I see no advantage choosing a Bank Jobs over IT jobs. There used to be a lifetime pension which is removed now from PSUs. Pay grade is better in IT. No direct customer interactions are necessary in IT. Flexibility to switch and live at a place of choice.
That's exactly what I was looking for. Thanks buddy 👍
I work in a nationalised bank since last 12 years. Banking job is not so lucrative like before. No work life balance. You can’t ask for leave, it is a crime if you ask for leave. You will get leave only if you are sick. What I am earning today after 12 yrs of struggling is what a IT guy gets after one year of job. You need to work on holiday as well. No pension as on date. I leave for office at Morning 8.30 am and return back home at night 9.30 pm on an average. Giving loan is risky and you may get 2 increments cut if you do wrong Advance. Staff strength is so poor in a branch that one day being an officer you will have to clean office toilet as well. Not to mention huge work pressure for all the canvassing of loans, mf, LIC, insurance, apy, gold loan, pmsby, pmjjby and innumerable govt schemes. You will get transferred all the time and can’t settle anywhere. One day or the other all banks will be privatised. This is the summary of a bank job nowadays. Hope I could enlighten you. Can’t comment on IT jobs as I never worked here. But I see my brothers who are working in IT are enjoying there life and getting double of my salary. They are going to vacations and doing work from a room having excellent scenic beauty from the window. Now it’s upto you how you want to spend the rest of your life.
Thanks for the detailed info brother 🙌
I would leave it to your way of getting contentment. Bank jobs will require you to be transferred every few years and your location will depend on the bank (with a few possible interventions once a while). Job stress has increased in banks. Bank jobs however give you access to cheaper loans etc. There is job security.
Job stability problem is not something which you might have in IT till the age of 40. After that when age catches up your ability to reinvent yourself, have a niche to survive and Excel will be key, a by product of which will reflect in your job security.

My friend is in union Bank of india and he hates it more there than i hate myself in IT
Is he working in public sector bank ? I heard that private banks jobs are moving more towards sales
Funny thing is my friend wanted to do the best of both worlds , so he chose to pursue IT Officer , he cracked it and got posted in Gorakhpur, he barely had any IT Work And most of the times he was taken on sales work to accompany his colleagues and all
I don't remember exactly but he was getting basic between 30-40 and adding the other ta da stuff his take home was atleast 50-60 , not exactly sure tho
