Hey folks. 3 YOE, working in tech at a great company, and making 135K TC in Austin.

Have an admit at Columbia and received 30K in aid each year, so I anticipate paying 110K in tuition. With cost of living in upper Manhattan, estimating an additional 35K each year, so 180K total cost.

I want to stay in tech post MBA, but explore faang companies and product roles. Is this worth the cost? I figure I could make a jump in comp at least?

Is a CASP+ worth anything? Does anyone here have the CASP+ as their primary certification for employment?

Would love to hear your negotiation wins and fails, and lessons learned. One of my learnings is simply to ask. If you don't ask the answer is definitely no. My example was asking for additional equity. I got back a no, but was offered a signing bonus.

Quick long-term career progression question, is it best to:

A: 2-3 yrs in T2 —> top MBA program —> MBB —> Pursue personal venture/industry

OR

B: 2-3 yrs in T2 —> MBB —> industry/ pursue personal venture

Is the workload and overall stress the same for non-tech roles in FAANG vs Non-FAANG companies? I work for a FAANG company and am stressed out and kind of miss just going to work and clocking out a 5 and not thinking about work. After 3 years, during a termination session, the therapist disclosed she’s in the same recovery program I’m in. Hi all! So I got a job with a bank, so I'm currently going through the process of a background check.

They ask for the past 5 years but I'm not sure if it includes 2017 or not? I assume it's from 2018-2022 that they will be looking at. Also, I did work a job up until early 2017, but don't have any records on it besides pay slips (not of every year) and T4. And I worked a job from 2018-2020 that wasn't included on my resume. Should that be listed on my background check?
