Bain & Company What is the likelihood of making SAC in September 2022 if I join as an AC on April 18th at Bain & Company? I am a senior consultant at EY with 3.5 years of experience in Data Analytics. Or is March 2023 more realistic? They told me 6 months for promotion but it seems like the two promotion cycles with my different start dates give me 4 or 9 months of experience, nothing in between. I’ll be joining in the private equity group which will be new for me.
Great for the office, great for an afternoon hike.
Currently interviewing with Facebook (Meta) and looking for advice from other Technical Recruiters that recently joined. I’d be leaving a great company after less than 1 year, but I’d get the chance to upgrade my leveling (perhaps even mgmt) with the bonus of getting experience at a FAANG company. When you wear a suit you want to make sure the jacket isn’t too long. It will make you look even shorter.
Gotcha yeah I have to do the same for button downs too
as a girl, i think it’s not about YOU trying to look taller, but helping her feel more confident and secure in herself! Im a 5 5 girl and my ex was 5 2. He was comfortable with his height, so I never felt like I had to look smaller. I loved wearing heels when we went out too and never felt weird about it. seems you’re comfortable with your height, so maybe the action here is helping your girlfriend feel comfortable being taller
Hyper her up when she’s in heels. Encourage her to add those heels she’s on the fence about to that outfit. when you guys are in picture-esque places, ask a friend to take a pic of you guys. Her sitting, you standing and leaning/crouching behind her (makes you taller). Notice when she slouches or hunches intentionally and see if she’s comfortable straightening up.

Stay slim and invest in some boots
If you gain weight, you will look shorter because of your body's new proportions. I am 5'9 and ever since I dropped to 8-9% body fat (with muscle), my photos look humorously tall because my height & width proportions look akin to someone who's over 6 feet.
5’3 guy with similar issue - wasn’t insecure but have entered the dating world and quickly found that women care about height more than I do. Would echo the above solutions. Ultimately though I’ve realized the only thing worse than being a short guy is being the short guy who’s insecure about it. Own it. It sounds like your lady needs some encouragement, but don’t let that impact your general self confidence
Appreciate the words of encouragement and good luck out there bro!

Shoe inserts can help a bit, workout a bit more if you can, haircuts (get something different), clothes need to be tailored (a few good jeans/chinos)
Be careful with shoe inserts, seem some nasty factory injuries

Getting jacked always helps

Advice: accept who you are. Nothing wrong with 5’5” and there’s no practical way to “become” taller.
Prince used high heels.
Apparently Joe Rogan wears heels/inserts too
Always angle so you are closer to the camera
Thank you!
As a fellow 5’5er who used to be self conscious- workout and be lean strong, if you’re too bulky you’ll look shorter. Wear tailored clothes that contour well, and when you walk, chest out and back straight. You’ll look and feel confident
Pants not too long is a key, also as others have said maybe focus shoulder traps arms in the gym
HGH
Ahh good will def not go to that route, thanks for the heads up!
Cowboy boots if you’re in the south. If not going to pull that off, a variety of men’s shoes do have some level of loft.
There's plenty of women who don't care just a thing to note. I was with someone who cared alot about it and I eventually moved on. I'm not telling you to do that but I think sometimes we start to think the entire world feels/sees/acts as what we know in our own. I would get like boots or shoes that add an inch and then an inch of inserts. That would make you about 5'7 and you'll be taller or the same height as most women. Just be confident and focus on what you have.
I appreciate it — thanks for the note!
A lot of good advice here. Wearing fitted clothes is a great bit of advice. Also work on your posture. Always keep your shoulders back, back straight, chin up.
Break your legs, should add an inch or two
Thank you everyone for the super helpful comments!
I would recommend stilts
