Hey folks, those of you taking Vyvanse and ADHD combo, do you feel completely wiped out mid-week (on meds) and on off days? I can’t seem to shake this off. Off days I understand but midweek tells me I am overworking the resources I have and even the ends that day can’t do enough to shake off the fatigue

Weed helps a little

😬 weed is frequently used in ADHD patients who go untreated. Since adhd comes with low self control, I’d avoid this if you could... saying this as I’ve been there done that

From my understanding this could be a dosage issue. If you started the medications when you started consulting, it may just be the consulting. :)

So I’ve been with FAANG for 5 years (I’m 30 y/o). I’m pretty comfortable with my situation. Got average grades at a good undergrad university, total comp ~300k. I’m debating Ivy League MBA. I don’t think it’ll benefit me at FAANG, but I’d like to start a company eventually. Worth it?

I need some ideas for my last hour class. I teach reading only and I have this class first hour for reading and then last hour again for “communication skills”. I plan on some days doing prodigy, maybe passion projects, and maybe reading groups. This class has a lot of sped kids. By the time last hour comes, they are all over the place. I need things to keep them from going crazy, but want it to be purposeful also. Any suggestion?

Trouble waking up? Set an alarm, take your meds, go back to sleep, and wake up feeling ready for the day!

I read this tip in another ADHD forum yesterday. Someone recommending setting a “first” alarm and taking medicine and then sleeping in a bit and when your second alarm goes off you’ll feel more awake. I tried it this morning and it was great! 7:15 alarm went off and I rolled over and grabbed my meds and water. Went back to sleep and at 8 when I needed to get up I felt so much more awake!!!

Long one - one of my best friends (10+ years) and I had a drink last week, I told her of my recent ADHD diagnosis and how we had noticed the generational trend (my mum & grandad as very similar symptoms wise and they acknowledge this, but not diagnosed). Is anyone on a low dose of Adderall or a similar stimulant, and do you find it helpful/effective?

When I was diagnosed (at 20 yo) I started on Adderall XR and my psychiatrist essentially took a “keep upping the dose until you feel side effects” approach, even though I still saw some benefits at a lower dose. I’m currently unmedicated and am somewhat hesitant to restart, but feel I could see some benefit and better stability with the help of medication.

Happy Friday. Just a reminder of a few things:

- ADHD is a disability, but it’s not the end of the world
- give yourself a break. Your brain needs it more than you realize
- medication is not a cure-all treatment. Medication + diet + exercise + self-organization is the key.
- ADHD causes us to feel emotions stronger than the average person.
- failure is inevitable, but so is success. Act accordingly, and be kind and fair to yourself
- life is hard, but that’s… wait, what was I saying? 😂😎❤️
