Y’all I’m really worried. My extended family had made plans a couple months ago to come together for thanksgiving but COVID is increasing exponentially and it’s just looking like a horrible idea. It’s 12 people from 7 different households. Some are flying some are driving. I really think it’s a bad idea but my 89 year old grandpa just got a stage 2 cancer diagnosis and honestly it might be the last time I ever get to see him. But then if he gets COVID he’s done for. I don’t know what to do.
I might have to move in March and looking at how these prices currently are, this is crazy 😭 Got to spoiled with the covid prices
What is your COVID safety practice? I strip off all my clothes as soon as I come home, take showers immediately so “outside germs” don’t touch the apartment interior, and wash my clothes immediately. My therapist mentioned this is a bit overboard - I’m curious to understand what others do and what practices are more “common” vs not
How accurate are at home COVID tests?
STAFFING IMMEDIATELY: - New SC or strong C - Must have public health background - DMV area (Falls Church Fairview Park office, but remote during COVID). Email firstname.lastname@example.org if interested and available.
Forget your company - how is your specific division/team doing in the age of Coronavirus? Any concerns about profitability or job security?
Everyone minimizing the severity of Coronavirus and saying the death rate is "only" ~3%, just imagine somebody saying the same thing about 9/11. Only about 3000 died (immediately).
With omicron changing COVID into a less severe form similar to a flu, is the end in sight or will the state and local government of California and Los Angeles continue to milk this as a supposed crisis? Will masks ever go away in this place?
procrastinated on a deliverable due tomorrow. blocked out today to get it done, only to get hit with covid this a.m. foggy, achy, with a fever. How the heck to i make it out of this nightmare
https://gothamist.com/arts-entertainment/pandemic-parties-nyc-underground-covid-coronavirus We are never getting out of this pandemic
Do you have to pay for your covid test? I was possibly exposed and went to an urgent care for the test. I have Aetna and they said it's free if ordered by the doctor.
People who have had covid - how long did it take you to test negative? Did you wait until you tested negative to go out? These new CDC guidelines are confusing.
Post COVID recovery: I have been sleeping 9-10 hours a day, is this normal or should I see a doctor?
Bicipetal tendinitis - which, it looks like I have been having for several months (first noticed 9 months ago), but did not realize it was lingering because I had not been lifting during Covid lockdown. Thought it was my rotator cuff, but PCP thinks it's tendinitis. Anyone have any tips or tricks for fast recovery, and approx timeframe from experience? Also any one experienced a misdiagnosis? Thank you in advance.
If you thought that the pandemic made people forget how to drive, then you were right. https://www.latimes.com/world-nation/story/2021-12-08/traffic-deaths-surged-during-covid-19-pandemic-heres-why
US citizen here, and I would like to move to Europe for a couple of years. What are some big named companies (other than big 4 & MBB) that will sponsor my working visa? I would also like to move early next year. Is that unrealistic though due to COVID? TIA 😊
Any ideas for covid safe and local bachelorette parties? My bridal party is all local and none of us want to travel right now.
Curious how you manage working when a toddler is home from daycare due to covid exposure? I’m at a new company and this happened almost immediately - my spouse doesn’t work remotely and so it’s almost all on me (luckily I have family that are able to help when they can too). I was “working” but with a clingy toddler who doesn’t yet do independent play it was a challenge. I told my boss and my team but curious if you would cancel or reschedule meetings that you could? One on ones were impossible!
Has anybody had rebound covid? I had first symptoms around last Wednesday, was symptom free by Sunday, but feeling sick today (congested, headache, tired). Is this a known trajectory/ has anybody else had this?
A break from COVID....let’s daydream for a minute... Say you are back on your regular travel schedule, what would be one thing you wish existed that would make traveling better for you?
I noticed a director is showcasing a better edit and grade of a commercial we shot together. Mine got put through the client ringer and he made a cut that feels like he really took some personal brush strokes with. Is it appropriate to reach out and asked to use his cut?
So I had my final interview yesterday in the industry (it was more so a 20 min convo with their CIO). Is it too early to follow up? I would never be pushy but I have another offer that I’m sitting on (as I would prefer the job that I interviewed for yesterday) so I need an answer asap
Would you leave before busy season if you get an offer in December before the holiday break or would you negotiate your start date to try to stay through the busy season (6 weeks) due to staff shortages? I feel like I’m fucking my team over but also am so over audit and all the hours/work they’re giving me due to staff shortages.
I‘ve been at my company since quarantine started and have been using my personal cell phone to make work calls and conduct phone interviews. I noticed my cell/AT&T bill has gone up. In my past jobs I’ve had a work cell l so never had to worry about this. Should I bring this up with my boss or HR regarding getting a possible cell phone stipend? Of course most of our corporate team also use their cell phones but since I recruit and interview people all day, I’m using my cell a lot.
Currently at a Big 4; director; AI tech strategy and performance improvement; looking for a change. Who’s open to a referral, and earning a referral bonus? Prefer to stay in US consulting.
Creative leads how likely are you to sift through application submissions via your site vs recruiter referrals? Feel like I have no incentive to submit an application because it will never be seen.
Anyone aware of platforms to purchase existing vacation rental investment properties? I came across Vrolio but they have a pretty short list.
Hard to Swallow Pills: Joe Biden is more conservative than JFK, Teddy Roosevelt, and FDR on virtually all economic issues. He is not a communist - and accusing him of being one is insulting to anyone who survived actual communist regimes in Europe and Asia. Please read a book.
I am thinking about having another baby. I have a 2 and a half year old boy. I am also going to be 41 next month. I had a really rough pregnancy the last time around and I’ll be 41 next month. Any mothers that had their kids after 40 with any advice?

About to have first kid and looking to buy a small or mid-size SUV. Deciding between the Mazda CX-5 and a Honda CRV. (Or maybe RAV-4.) I like the way the CX-5 drives so much better but it feels very cramped vs. the other options. Any recs or considerations between these from other parents??
Friendly message for people new to crypto: All else equal in terms of project quality, tokenomics, etc., the price of an asset doesn’t matter when speaking about price potential. What matters is market cap. Ex. $1B market cap coin at 0.01 vs. $1M market cap coin at $5000. All else equal the $5000 coin has more pump/dump potential. I repeat, this is not financial advice and do your own research.
Have you felt the need to come out to show advocacy and diversity in your classroom? Even if you’re totally comfortable in your personal life, do you feel this need to be out and be an ally?
Hi Moms- Curious to get a sense of what your different parental leave policies look like and how you have liked them. My company gave 12 weeks paid and I felt it was woefully short for my first. Before having my second, I'm interested in pushing my company to increase the time and am curious to hear what other companies offer. Beyond just the time, was your company flexible? Is it the same for all parents? Did it feel like enough? Thank you!
Are there actually any job postings open for H1B workers these days? All job postings that I’ve been looking require the applicants to be US citizens
Hey ladies. Can we take a second to talk about friendship? As a working mother of two that works from home, I’m finding it hard to making friends or maintaining friendships. I’m the only one in my friend groups with kids and I feel left out and alone a lot of the time. Like I’ve been downgraded as a friend because I’m not as available. How have you built your tribe of support and friendship as an adult? Can anyone relate?
Any Alvarez & Marsal 🐠 that can share their experiences with the Healthcare practice? Thank you!
