Hello, I have received an offer from Southwest Airlines as a Associate Technology Analyst with their direct college hire program. Will be graduating in May with a degree in MIS and also have internships experience as a Business Systems analyst intern. The salary compensation started off at 66,500 but was looking for the 75k range and they got back to me saying the best they can do is 68,500. They also have a 401k company match up to 9.3%. Do you think this is a solid offer for this job market?

It has been widely communicated that masks to not help, so I would skip it.
Wishing you only good health, CG1. Sorry you feel personally attacked, definitely not my intention.
Dont know where you're flying to or from, but just flew out of JFK and about 10-20% were wearing masks. Like 90% wiped down their seat on the flight.
A mask is really only helpful if you yourself are sick/have an active cough. Keep your distance from anyone who is coughing and wash your hands as often as possible. Be mindful of what you are touching. Even better if you have hand sanitizer. If you have wipes, wipe down your seat/armrest and air vent. Safe travels!
Thanks all for your advice and positive thoughts! Will be wearing the mask tomorrow but didn't expect the backlash to start here 😂 fwiw these are N95 masks that I picked up while volunteering to rebuild in USVI post Irma. I totally recognize that hoarding is not good but am holding onto these (used) masks of mine for these situations. Hoping it goes well and wishing safety for all of you!
Where are you located OP? Honestly I’ve been seeing it more and more in airports and on planes, but remember that health officials state that masks really don’t help prevent you from catching anything, just can help if you have it and keep it from passing to others. I would focus on keeping your hands from your face and good hand hygiene
Flying out of Boston, so slightly higher traffic with the Euro returning flights
op don't wear a mask. they don't prevent you contracting it. save masks for those who are actually sick as it prevents them from spreading it.
But how do we know that she's not a carrier right now? We're assuming that she hasn't been exposed to this point and hasn't contracted it / not in incubation. Haha
OP, if you have a mask and want to wear it, I think it's a good move. And even if you don't have it, I think the reminder of the mask will help you touch your face less. (personally I don't have masks but I have scarves and cloth masks for the reminder to not touch my face and being mindful of where my hands go)
OP donate your mask to someone or somewhere that actually needs it, like a nursing home. My mom is a nurse at a retirement home and they can’t get masks anywhere.
I have seen people from different ethnicities wearing masks in the airport so I won't worry too much about that. However, make sure you wear the N95 and wash your hands often or otherwise it's pointless.

Chief
Dude wear gloves, mask, sunglasses, scarf, anything so you don’t touch your face. Fk other people take care of yourself
Wear it and wear it with confidence. There’s a reason why the asian countries mandate it - it works! Just our country there is a shortage so they’re trying to save for healthcare, but if you already have one, wear it. More importantly bring hand sanitizer and antiviral Lysol wipes
How is this not incredibly selfish, assuming that OP doesn’t have an underlying condition or work with the elderly? There are so many people out there who really need masks that can’t get them. All these people (honestly, mainly asians in my social circles) who stocked up early need to take a second to think about other people.
N95 respirators need to be medically fit-tested to ensure a complete seal. Otherwise they are ineffective.
🙌 this... emergency doctors go through like a 20 minute exercise every few months to make sure the mask fits their face, as the face shape keeps changing... and it’s only effective for certain durations, etc. otherwise it is a waste and your every likely to touch your face or not dispose of it correctly and actually collect more germs
