Hey guys - first time to post here - I have almost 13 years of experience in procurement and decided to move to a different career which is Product Management - I am now a PO for the past 2 years and I've been always questioning myself that same question everytime I read a job post - what technical background needed for a PO\PM? and how deep programming knowledge needed?

After m7 what are the three that round out the top 10?

Are those three programs closer in reputation to programs 11-15 or m7?

Is the bigger cliff in prestige from t10 to t15 rather than from m7 to t10?

Would you go to a t10 if you didn’t get into an m7 and are still flexible to delay a year?

I feel like there is too much variability in the rankings.

Is anyone else still unemployed since March/April layoffs or am I the last one? I’ve officially lost hope. Any careers that EA skills are easily transferable to? I have 10 years experience and am in a major metropolitan area. I’m looking for remote positions for obvious reasons, which I think is further impeding my success of landing something.

I am onstantly getting through the Hiring Manager rounds for the companies I am interviewing for but after the peer rounds with PM/Senior PMs I am getting rejected. Ine of the companies was Walmart which had 2 back to back interviews with a Group and Senior PM and I got a reject. Can the fellow PMs give me some guidance as to what I maybe missing.

I am 2 years into product as my first job. I have a new manager (former lawyer!?) who micromanages everything I do - including stylistic changes to my user stories. I tried having an open conversation with him and now he starts every call with “I am not telling you what and how to do but do x“. Any advice please? I love the company / my job / engineering team but he’s driving me nuts and can’t make decisions on my own product areas🤯

Being a technical PM feels like I have less ownership.
All decision making is done in the presence of engineering and data science. In addition to that there is another PM that actually leads the UI of our overall application so often times they are the ones directly interacting with a user and giving us requirements very much in a waterfall way. Is this the nature of technical product management or there’s something that I’m not doing right?

My current role is a Business Analyst. I am very comfortable interacting with people and also Ambiguity. Recently, I developed quite a lot of interest in Product management and I want to make a transition into this stream. I am completely aware that Business Analysis is different from Product Management. I started taking courses on Udemy to understand more about Product Management and also started reading books. Can I get feedback on QA, do other product teams run their test scripts (non automated test scripts) past the business every single time they develop something?
