For whoever is interested K1 was spot on. Couldn’t get them to budge over $170k but got a $15k sign on bonus. Overall very happy with this offer solid raise in base pay for me! Thanks again everyone

This is good comp for a non-MBA first year manager in Strategy. Congrats.

like

Pretty wide range; I’d say $150k-$200k. Depends on which group, MBA, location etc.

like

No MBA and Tier 2 city

Glad I could help, congrats!

That’s higher than what non-MBA first year managers make here. You can obviously say what you want to the recruiter, but internally be prepared for $150-$170k.

Ok thanks for the heads up. My question is that $150k is normal in the Big 4 for a Manager but doesn’t Strategy pay 20% more on avg? Also given the high demand and the fact that I’m not home grown I figured 20-30% increase over standard $150k was reasonable

I need to give the recruiter a range by today so would really appreciate the input from you all. Thanks again!

Ok great feedback thanks man!

Did you do strategy at a previous firm?

No I am part of MC but last 2 projects were long term and heavy M&A and Strategy

Hi everyone! I recently accepted a new job with a Big 4 and am also newly engaged. I have a couple of concerns… the main one being that I may not have enough time off for 2022 to cover taking off for the wedding, honeymoon, and then a couple of other weddings where I’m supposed to be a bridesmaid. Do you think there would be any wiggle room with managers allowing time off, or is it generally pretty strict? (Continued in comments)

How much experience do you need to be seriously considered for jobs that ask for “5 years” experience? I have 1.5 years of Big 4 experience. (Including college part time accounting jobs gets me closer to 4-5 years experience - just not sure if that’s generally viewed as “valid” experience)
