Hey guys,
I am about to get a job offer, it is a hybrid contract position. What I don't like is that it is an hour away from my home. They require 3 days work in office. They are ready to pay 95$ per hour on w2 w/o benefits. I need a health insurance as well. Does it worth?

Are you currently employed? If no, take it. If yes, then compare your current situation with the offer and make your decision

like

If you don't already have a job, just deal with it for the short-term. I would start looking for something else though if that's not really what you're looking for, because you got to earn some money

like

What organization is it?

like

If you are currently unemployed I would advise you to take it.

like

$95 / hr is a pretty good rate. I’m assuming this is bay area or seattle. If you don’t have a job right now taking it would be a wise option.

like

Must say it’s a good offer if you’re currently not employed. You can then again keep looking after accepting the offer. Good luck pal

like

It’s a very good pay. I’d take it and see what is available on the health insurance outside of work.

Hello Fishes,
My brother is a b.com graduate(2020 passed out) and looking for a job.
The problem here is because Finance jobs requires exceptional skills and academics due to which he is not able to get shortlisted for most job interview screening, he is receiving interview calls from great companies but not able to convert them.
If anybody can help even with an Internship position at their firm that would be a great starter to his career.

My company is adopting Scrum and hiring a bunch of agile coaches to assist with sprints. We got assigned our agile coach that'll be starting soon.

I read a description of what this role is supposed to be for and it sounds like they'll be leading Scrum ceremonies. So they run the planning meeting, the retrospective and daily stand ups. Up to now, I've been doing those and it's taken a total of like 2 hours a week of my time.

What on earth do agile coaches do with the other 95% of their time?

CS and SWE is great in that it can be applicable to a great range of fields, to create immensely helpful tools for other things.

What are some areas where SWE intersects with things that help people, country, and the world? Now also add in making a decent living and generally competitive with other SWE “industry”.

Things that come to my mind are government-related, military, some fintech. Sciences have great need of computing, and can have big impact, but income is less clear.
