Hey guys, I just recently graduated with my bachelors degree and am working full time as a software engineer. I want to continue my education and in a few years apply to one of the bigger tech companies. Not necessarily a FAANG, but I would like to be prepared enough that I could take a job at a FAANG company at a mid senior level. What would you guys suggest doing to further my education? Are there classes or certifications that would be helpful? I hear a lot of people talking leet code?

I work in insurance. I was working for an Allstate agent and was fired the day after my grandmothers funeral for being “unenthusiastic in our morning meeting”. Now I’m having anxiety searching for a job. I don’t think I want to sell anymore yet every single recruiter I interview with says I should, that I have a “salesperson mentality”. I’m burnt out. Has anyone else felt this way? How did handle it? Is there a different career path I can take or am I destined to sell insurance forever?

I am pissed off. All companies I am going for interviews for director role are asking for having the exact experience and be hands on at the code level.

I am not interested to code any more code. I am done with this.

I have been looking at the curriculums for Harvard Business School's Master of Business Administration and Harvard Extension School's ALM in Management. They both have the same requirements (generally speaking) including a capstone course that serves as a field immersion course with the Master's in Management, which is fairly new. If I am not able to gain admission to Harvard Business School, but wanted a similar educational experience to become a consultant, should I attend Harvard Extension?

So I am working as a UI UX designer since Jan22. I started with a really good project (everything from the scratch) with research, knowing the user etc. The project went really well. It was my first project that I handled individually. I got another project it also went well. Then I was told to work directly with a client, it's been 2 months already we work late hours and also on weekend (asked by the client). It feels like my personal life is gone. I have close to 9 years (8.8 )years of experience so what should be the designation to demand or what can they provide? And how and what are the roles and responsibilities of c2 level! I saw here someone getting a manager designation at 7 year of experience at much less package hence asking.

I started doing QA at the company I am currently at 3 years ago. Long story short, within 4 months at the company, I was able to make a career change and step into the position without having the formal education or PM experience, only my 5 year experience in QA. When I started I made $65k and it has jumped up to $78k. I have seen other PMs make way more at other companies $100k +. Annual review tomorrow, should I fight to get a big raise or look into other jobs that pay more if not?

Applying to roles within the same federal agency. I know you need one year within the probationary period, but can I apply to a higher GS level? For example, if I'm GS 9, receive a promotion to GS 11 at the end of probation, would i be able to apply to GS 13 roles if I'm qualified? I told him if anything he should do managment engineering which he got accepted to. He also got accepted to Mcmaster- information management systems. Which in my opinion you get a bit of everything!
