Hey guys! I transfered to big law from a small firm where I had always worked with 1/2 Juniors who were working for me exclusively.

Now I share 7-8 juniors with a lot of people. I have problems with them taking work since they say they have too much on their plate, and thet dont produce quality deliveries in time (looks like they half ass it or dont invest time) (2/8 Juniors do fine)

I think they could push harder, but not sure how to handle the situation without a negative dinamic. Any tips?

What do you do when when someone at the top of your firm says something bigoted and you don’t call them out immediately?

How do you deliver feedback, if it all, around language? A staff I work with is very hard to understand with her accent. Her written English is also sub-par. Feels sort of discriminatory to call out?

I'm a cashier. We just got a new manager, and she's making things really hard for us. She starts work at 4:30am and leaves around 2:30pm, but she still expects us to stay until 6pm and work on the weekends! She gives us really long shifts and doesn't give us much time for breaks. Here’s some unsolicited advice for junior account folks: turning on your camera with your team and ESPECIALLY upper level management is a good thing, and still counts as “face time”. We’ve noticed that the more senior a call, the more faces we see. Be a leader, show up, and turn your camera on.

I’m an HR Mgr, and need help approaching my HRC about her demeanor at work. She lost her father last fall, and since returning to work, she’s become incredibly delicate. Often cries at work, staff are hesitant to approach her; it’s like walking on eggshells constantly with her. I joined a corporate firm as a multi year experienced paralegal. It seems however that I am not necessarily welcome by other paralegals in the Dept., a few negative comments to partners about me. Obtaining assignments feels much like a popularity contest. Any advice on overcoming the negative vibes? My fear is that there is a negative reflection about me and the managing partner doesn't seem open to me, even though I haven't had the opportunity to work for him or the others yet.

How is WLB in biglaw lit (west coast)? Just want a life that isnt constantly under threat of ruined nights and weekends, and lets me live a relatively predictable work life. Going to a firm after clerking and feeling nervous.
