OR circulating nurse here. Will preface this by saying I have the utmost respect for CSFAs in the OR setting. However, wondering if any other OR RN’s have had issues with CSFAs feeling and acting like they are in charge of the room or attempt to carry out tasks that you as an RN are supposed to do? I do love having help, but we have one FA who hijacks my tasks and gets upset when i do not do things the way they would and attempts to instruct me on how to do my job

Making a lot of money relative to the average but feeling poor? Median after-tax income was ~$55,000 in 1981 and was ~$73,000 in 2020. Using a Bank of Canada inflation calculator $55,000 in 1981 is equivalent to ~$165,000 today, which would put someone in the top 10% of earners today. But in 1981 the median family had that extra money. Who can I blame?

Seeking advice - I didn’t graduate with a finance or accounting degree but have recently landed a junior accounting role (billing management / invoicing) I can see myself growing in this field and have started to learn more about financial/economic terms which interests me. I feel really behind and I’m just not sure what career paths are available or what senior roles I should be striving for given my background. Any thoughts as to how I can best develop from my junior accounting role?

I’ve been a lawyer for a little over 8 years and I think it’s time to move on to a new career. I ruined my legal career by staying in a shitty practice area for too long and now I can’t leave. I took the bar in another state and unsuccessfully job-hunter there for a year, then job hunted here ~6 months, no luck. I want to do something else. I want a good career, with job security, reasonable hours, a good salary potential, and something that isn’t miserable and relentlessly adversarial.

I’m CX for a coworking space in Texas! I just recently finished a 10 month course in UI/UX and I have a background in customer experience. I have an eye for design (product, architecture, interior, etc). When it comes to UI/UX I learn pretty much all there is to know about both but I’m having a hard time figuring out what to focus on and what opportunities to apply for! Any pointers?

I’ve spent a decade in a government contract niche growing from an entry level role to senior leadership. It’s no longer fulfilling work to me. I’d love to make a change to the non-profit realm to serve my community. I’m in a weird place because I’ve grown professionally without acquiring a bachelor’s degree and now I feel like an employer won’t look at my resume because I don’t have a degree. Is it possible to make the change to mid-level management still or do I have to start over?
