Hey, has anyone worked at both amazon and Google? If so what were your thoughts and personal preference? I'm trying to figure out the best choice for me. Any guidance greatly appreciated.

For WLB, pay, and happiness Google is a no brainer IMO. Probably better career development at Amazon but maybe others with more experience can chime in here

Google hands down! Sadly the culture at Amazon was tough and specifically for HR - very demoralizing and didn’t feel respected. Google has given me hope about staying in tech. I would avoid joining google cloud but almost every other area of the company is top notch and has supportive managers.

I’ve been contributing to our ROTH IRAs this year monthly. Didn’t max out for me and wife, but are close (and will by April deadline). We were under income thresholds by a good margin based on salary so I was fine contributing throughout the year… except I just got a massive unexpected bonus (yay) that shoots us over the income limits (I think). 1. Is the income limit based on AGI or before tax gross? 2. Assuming I’m over limit for 2021 based on AGI anyway, is there anyway to fix this?

My five year old girl keeps getting touched by the kindergarten boys on her bus. All the kindergarteners sit in the front section of the bus. When I asked my daughter what happened she informed me one boy pulled her hand and arm and the other pinched her hand hard. She said she gave a Bronx cheer to them, but she is getting written up by the driver?

L&D professionals, how often do you expect your employees to participate in soft skill training?

A VP wants our employees going through monthly soft skills training on widely divergent topics, mandatory attendance. I think it will feel like a good investment initially, but the employees are going to get overloaded with information and not have an opportunity to put what they're learning into practice leading to poor ROI. It would help to hear other's findings so we can decide. Thanks!
