Systemic review of deal process, review of all currently invested assets, setting near term and long term strategy and capital allocation for each.
Lol you shouldn’t be taking a role you can’t even interview prep for 😂

Your question makes it look as though you are starting from scratch.
While asking for input from “the crowd” isn’t a bad thing, your question lacks any specificity and someone up for a Head of Strategy position should have at least some type of general idea/direction they want to go in.
Do you have prior experience in strategy work?
Fair. I do from about 8 years in the firm.
Basically all I know all the core topics to cover (cost, new asset classes, esg, tech based risk management -ai etc, digitising middle and back office & the investment process) but they would doing these anyway in some form given they are a mid size firm. What I was getting at was what would the 90 days look like apart from get to know everyone, look at what to keep, bolster or drop and figure out the political stakeholder situation.
Kind of depends on how the job is scoped. Some head of strategy jobs are limited to the things you just described and you're effectively an also ran to your peers.
A meatier role would be if any of the major business transformation initiatives rolled up to your office, if you own the 3-5 year growth horizon priorities, etc. You should align that with your boss so you can focus down the big stuff without people wondering why you exist.
