Hey! I got an offer today from R@kuten for Sr Business Analyst of CAD $110K+15% annual bonus. Verbally in conversation with recruiter I had asked for CAD 115+10% annual bonus. I was initially offered $110k+10% annual bonus. I think I’ve already priced myself low which might be decent (not sure) for Toronto but way less in comparison with Bay Area where most of team will be based off. Any advice on how to ask for more base or joining bonus?

I am currently working in the final round of interviews for a job I think I’d enjoy for a $10k pay raise with far less stress than my current job. That said, it’s a step down from my current responsibilities and I’m nervous it’ll hold me back from my eventual goals. I’m burnt out right now and in a masters program, so less stress is very enticing. Should I take it if offered or hold out for a true promotion/upward move? Will it hurt me down the road to take this job?

I have received much recognition from the directors and higher executives. 3 months after being hired I was asked to become SCRUM master (for which I am certified) Unfortunately there has been a series of management changes and at my 6 month evaluation my salary was adjusted from 65 to 67k. Am I wrong to expect more? I’m unsure what a typical promotional jump is but 67k for SCRUM master?

So I just got a written job offer for a Sr. Principal Systems Engineer position. The offer was $142k, with a $10k signing bonus.

It is a little bit lower than what a few other people I know have gotten over the past few weeks in similar positions. I want to counter the offer but I want to make sure I'm not going so high that they balk and walk away. Knowing that others have gotten $145k and a $15k bonus, how high would be too high in a counter offer? Is $150k too much to ask?
