That’s pretty good for your YoE

Yeah that sounds great. Nice increase for you and good salary for your YOE. You can probably make more but that’s a good chunk of change, especially in Texas.
Will they give you an annual bonus as well? Also note I wouldn’t include signing bonus in your TC as that’s a one-time payment.

Ooh ok. 8% isn’t fantastic but it’s decent and certainly a nice gesture to give you a signing bonus to make you whole.
If you’re not totally satisfied with the offer (which seems pretty good), you can always try negotiating other benefits, like PTO.
Hey, just got a new offer which sounds very similar to yours, 2 YOE and went from 85k -> 130k, when trying to budge I had similar resistance so I will take this as a sign that it is fair across the industry
Yeah I was thinking that $130k - $140k sounded like a good base salary especially in Austin, but seems like it was an fair offer.

Seems pretty good considering your YOE and the fact that it's a starting salary for your new Senior SWE role. This gives you the potential to get raises each year in addition to the 8% bonus you mentioned. If after a few years you decide to pursue another company and/or position, you'll have those years of experience as a Senior SWE to push the salary/TC way higher later on.
That makes a lot of sense.
Amazon will pay 200+ for someone with your YOE in Austin.

You're comparing a normal company to a FAANG company though...
Of course the FAANG and well-established/very competitive tech companies are going to pay a premium in total comp (salary, stocks, etc). I hope that OP is aware of this already but if not, I would definitely recommend OP to do his/her due diligent research on this. The types of companies I mentioned will definitely pay a competitive salary for entry-level software engineers (e.g. $200k+ TC) and senior-level engineers (e.g. $300k+ TC, even $500+ TC for staff/principal levels).
