Hey IBM fishes, can you please share some info on Package Consultant role at IBM?

Got a LinkedIn message from a recruiter looking to fill a VP position at a bank. I know VP positions can vary with YOE but based off of our talk & looking at JD, this is a very senior position looking for 10 YOE min - I have 3 YOE. I didn’t say anything initially and just sent my resume. I now have a call with HM who’s an SVP. I would love the role - should I dance around YOE or be clear in that I’m junior and would be willing to take a lower level to still be considered during the call?

I once had a job where I was ultimately made to be the scapegoat for the many problems at the company. It was an extremely difficult time and I had very little support. Plus it was during the pandemic. I spent the next couple of years looking for another full time position. Thankfully, I found one last month. Soon after I started, I realized I’m still troubled by that toxic experience. I’m now using my newly acquired EAP benefits to address it because I’m afraid of it happening again.

Does anyone teach in class elementary, middle, or high school and also teaches college level? If so, how did you get the college level job? I have a masters and specialist degree and teach in class. I also want to teach college level online but have a hard time either finding a position available or applying. I had an interview for an in-house position this week. The recruiter asked me how much I was making, I said $X on the spot. She almost gasped and the interview ended quickly. Is this common? I’m finding that a weird side effect of losing my job in this climate is ad agencies taking advantage of my weakened position. They get in touch, proactively or in response to my reaching out, and they want to hire me as they are in good shape. When I reveal I was laid off, the offer changes to freelance or maybe nothing. My work, awards, the fact that they know me and approached me in the first place should be enough. I don’t want to lie about my situation. Any ideas how to avoid this?

Boss is gaslighting? Just experienced this for the first time - and would love to hear others’ experiences, too. For the past few years, my micromanager boss asked that I send them every draft of every contract to review, no matter how minor. In my performance review, when asked why I wasn’t promoted, they said that a reason was because I need to learn to stop sending them drafts to review! I said that I only did this because they asked for it, and they said they don’t remember saying that!
