Is it possible to lateral to MBB from Big 4? I was an experienced hire with an MBA but had no consulting experience. Now that I have some consulting under my belt I’d like to at least look into the possibility of moving up the prestige ladder and making more money. What does the process look like? I need help making up my mind on where to attend.

So I have two offers on the table : Tuck vs Yale SOM. I am getting 40k scholarship from Tuck and nothing from Yale.

I'm planning on going into consulting afterwards and am not sure what school to attend. I know Tuck's group oriented teaching is slightly more geared towards consulting.

What has been making me hesitate is the global presence of what Yale has in its name.

Would you say Yale has almost equal chance of getting into MBB as Tuck?

Is the MBB brand name really that worth it outside of consulting? At a T2 doing largely similar work with C-Level clients and contemplating if the move makes sense (beyond pay).

Getting nervous about my decision for bschool. I’ve submitted a deposit to attend Ross but having cold feet. I currently live in NYC and my family and gf are all here. I was accepted to NYU but Ross awarded me a half tuition scholarship and seems to have a better pipe for MBB and better overall MBA experience. I’m nervous mainly about leaving my gf for 2 years 😞. We have a great relationship and she’s supporting me to make the bedt decision but idk. I just don’t want to lose our connection.

So Altman clearly beats out MBB in some sectors and is trying to position themselves as an MBB or perhaps tier 2 equivalent, but they’re just not matching the salaries. Why were Analyst salaries only raised to $95K when my friends at big firms (not just tier 2 but also MBB) will be making $100-120k as second years?

And how are corp dev teams / folks viewed internally by PnL owners within F500 companies vs corp strategy folk (ie I’ve heard the latter are sometimes viewed as PPT makers with limited impact which impacts exits out of corp strategy)?

Why does McK call it as beach while BCG/Bain call it as bench? Any historical context to these two terms?
