The layoffs must have pissed some people off.
I had a recruiter reach out to me from Google 3 years ago about a role she thought I would be good for. She really advocated for me to be in the role but the hiring managers didn’t feel like I was qualified.
We had a discussion and she gave me a lot of good feedback on how I could be a stronger candidate and encouraged me to reach out to her directly for future opportunities. Fast forward to now, I’ve gained a lot of experience and skills. Should I reach out even though it’s been 3 years?

Hi I do marketing for a recruitment company so I highly recommend working with a recruiter! They are free to use for candidates it’s the client that pays for it. They will match you with relevant jobs based on your experience, prep you for interviews and handle the salary negotiation. Look up marketing recruitment firms and start submitting your resume on their websites and look up some recruiters on LinkedIn! Best of luck!
Oh no, I'm really sorry! Definitely get in touch with recruiters, and have your resume rewritten by a professional. Helps loads!
Wow, so sorry to hear that! I think getting on Upwork and having your resume professionally rewritten is key. Plus working on your interviewing skills and perhaps hiring a career coach to help you get started. HH might not be the best bet in this market cause their intentions are off
Agree with reaching out to recruitment firms! Leverage LinkedIn as much as possible. Revamp your profile including add marketing buzz words in your role responsibilities/summary section. Turn on the open to work setting (private so only recruiters can see it).
Please feel free to DM me your contact. I can put you in touch with recruiting, and as a referral you are guaranteed at least a screening call with recruiting - i work at agency, for big letter holding company. Outside of that, find a recruiter! Best of luck!
Sorry to hear that, in my case I was able to jump from jobs with the help of a few friends– try reaching out to your circle too, or just until you land your next hire. Hope things work out for you soon!
If you find a position that interests you, reach out to people from the company that would be on a similar team on LinkedIn. Most companies offer referral bonuses, so people are always up for referring you to the company if they feel you have the experience.
Let me know if you are still looking! Happy to recommend you for a position - we are actively hiring!
