Hey... looking for some advise. I recieved an offer from Firm B - and they offered me a 40% hike. I resigned but my current firm offered me a 42% hike to retain me and I agreed to stay as I wasn't very fond of the role at Firm B.
Yesterday I received on offer from Firm C for a 45% raise over my existing salary and I slightly like the role at Firm C more. Should I resign again? After having agreed to accept the new salary at my current firm ? Would it be too unethical / unprofessional?

I would leave without any qualms since your current firm underpaid you by over 40% and only bumped your pay to retain you. They are slime in my book.
This aligns with my thoughts as well.

Looks like you got the right direction from everyone to do what’s best for you as that’s what every firm is doing.
Curious which sector and range of salaries is this? 40%ish hikes are hard to come by generally
I currently work at a Big4's Deal Advisory practice where I am part of a group that specializes in Financial Modeling (excel based).
The role with Firm C is withing their Restructuring and Turnaround Strategy team, they were looking for someone with kickass modeling skills. Firm C is also a Big4 btw.
If you don't mind burning all your bridges at A, go for it. They don't care about you as a person, so don't base your decision on their PoV.
Two unsolicited pieces of advice:
1) Never accept a counter offer to stay. Ever.
2) When pivoting, make sure you're running towards a better role/opportunity vs. running from a role you don't like.
You aren’t burning bridges. You are leaving for a great new opportunity, and your previous firm was underpaying you (in other words, under appreciating you) the whole time. Them offering the recent pay hike and promotion is proof of that. You have not done anything unethical. It’s the equivalent of a guy whose girlfriend takes him for granted and then gets jealous when a new girl flirts with him. 😆

Firm D coming soon!! 😂😂😂. Leave your current firm though, you are currently under paid. All these offers are data points
As a matter of fact it might, I appeared for final rounds of interview for 4 firms back in Jan-Feb. Heard back from B and C. D and E are yet to respond.
This is why counter-offers never work. The employee is gone no matter what. You only prolong the inevitable.
Question. Are you leaving for a 3% difference? Or are you leaving for a 45% raise on top of the 42% raise you were given for them to retain you?
Gotcha. Hmmm. That would be tough but you’d most likely burn bridges at company A. But if you’re ok with that then go for it if you feel like you’d enjoy the role more.

Don’t ever accept a counter offer. Period. You will always be looked at as a flight risk and as the person who stayed because of $$$
This type of blanket advice is nonsense
Lol by the time I got another offer there was nothing my firm could offer me to keep me - that’s how little opinion I had of the people in my team (slime of the worst kind, illegal activity kind). Run away - theres a reason you started looking and all your are doing is giving them time to find and train someone to replace you
How long between “B” and “C”?
Its only 3%. Not wort burning bridges
Terrible, consulting skills. Always understand the context first. Need to evaluate value of the bridge before determining if you shouldn’t burn it.
