100% normal. If he is gaining weight and is generally happy (especially if he can lay down without issues) then nothing to worry about. It will get worse before it gets better at around 6 months.

I usually hold my baby up for 15-20 mins after every feed whether or not he burps. Anytime I dont do this, he spits up. My baby is also formula fed

Its such a pain having to hold them for his long after every feed. Especially at night. By the time you feed them, burp them, change them, they sleep for a bit and its time for another feed. I get how tiring this can be but this is the only way that has worked for my LO. Otherwise he gets gassy and spits up
I always get 2-3 burps from mine after feeding, so maybe you could try burping a little longer? But either way, spitting up is totally normal and expected! Mine spits up totally sporadically.

Ok yes I’ll try for a little longer also. Thanks for the tip!!

For my first kid he spit up after each bottle and dr said that’s normal…. the second kid the dr said if they spit up they ate too much. Who knows, but I think you got good advice above.
The exact same thing is happening with us and our two month old. Our pediatrician recommended we hold her upright for 20-30 minutes after feeding and burping them. It suuuucks at night to have to stay up another 30 minutes holding them upright but it’s cut down her spitting up/vomiting up breast milk or formula to less than half. Strongly recommend trying it.
Agreed this is pretty normal. My son lived in one of those bandana bibs until he was close to 9 months old.
