Hey new moms! I started a post a while back on incorporating pregnancy/family benefits / parental leave into job negotiation for senior women executives. I got 20 weeks fully paid leave (4 more weeks than my current firm), a clear path to parenthood (flexible schedule) and desired comp package. Want to share 3 key learnings from my own experience (continue into comment section)

1) be transparent that you are expecting but don’t tell the employer until you get your written offer and negotiated other key factors that are important to you such as comp, title, remote vs travel, etc.; 2) benefit negotiation should be the last step and it also allows you to gauge if your new team and manager are supportive of you starting a new job and a new family 3) ask to speak to other female executives at the firm to gain understanding of company culture and stance on diversity, work/life for newly professional moms, track progression for career moms who want it all but maybe not a race to the top with the new born baby, etc.

This is for a guidewire role.
Which is a better offer? What would be a good option for growth wrt role, salary etc.
Also, PWC claims to offer variable based on their fixed CTC based on the ratings.. is this true ? How much is the avg percentage given?

Hi everyone! Idk if I need advice or I’m venting but I’ve been looking for jobs actively right now and want to make a switch soon. There’s a gap in terms or compensation for the jobs I’m being approached for. These jobs offer the same compensation I’m at or slightly higher (5-7%). This is demotivating and I honestly don’t know what to do. I don’t make an awful lot (105K in NYC) and I’m looking for a 20-30% bump in terms of compensation. Am I crazy here?

So far I received offers from PwC India, Capgemini and Lexmark for Data Engineering.

More are in pipeline from KPMG GS, TechM, Accenture.

But one peculiar thing is happening. I have appeared for 4 Cognizant interviews but in all I have been rejected. Whereas most of my friends had easily cleared Cognizant. I am switching tech, so I am a bit concerned like whether my knowledge is too shallow😐

So I have claimed exemptions on the following-
1) HRA
2) 5 year term deposit(fixed deposit) under Section 80C
3) Interest on education loan under Section 80E

I am asked during this RE analyst interview to build a real estate model from scratch. My background is commercial banking and I am used to analyzing real estate deals from the lender side not the developer. The interviewer is generous I must say he’s giving me a few days to complete. However this model is for a ground up multifamily development. I have no prior experience building one. I can find models online but all very complexe to reproduce. How would you handle? We were not trying to conceive. And I was drinking alcohol like twice a week.

TMI… 7 weeks and have been struggling with constipation (also 2 months post egg retrieval = lots of hormones). Has anyone been successful in negotiating the schedule on a global pregnancy bill? My provider won't bill by visit and split the global cost into four payments all due by the 28th week. I don't understand how that's legal since it is so off the calendar of services and crosses calendar years (and insurance coverage), where most costs are incurred at the end of pregnancy with increased visit frequency and delivery.

I am 31 and trying to conceive since 2 months. My mom had early menopause when she was 39 or 40. I am bit worried and my family doctor said she can transfer me to fertility specialist as I have such Family history.

I was two weeks late for my period and was going to take a pregnancy test this weekend. However this morning I felt cramps and had a little bleeding..... How much did you all pay for the 20 week ultrasound out of pocket? My 12 week ultrasound cost me $600 so I am guessing the 20 week one would be even more expensive. I have the high deductible plan from United healthcare.
