I can't stay anywhere more than two years. I have switched three companies now and I love the challenge of building my skillsets with a new role.
Always switch unless someone likes to be stuck at a sub standard salary. Also people who can't switch are seen incompetent
I'm an advocate of switching - I think staying in one place is more of an older generation mindset tbh. There was an article I read that you basically lose money once you stay in a role for over 3 years as the internal hike won't be as much as an external offer
LTI1- I'm not sure I agree with you there. Some recruiters find longevity to be a valuable trait.
Everyone seems to switch. I don't think it's a good idea. You end up looking unreliable and like you will only be there for a short amount of time.
I mean, if you can stay with one org and work your way up, being promoted and properly compensated, that's awesome. Unfortunately, a lot of companies take advantage of loyalty like this and only offer competitive comp when a person gives notice.
