Hey recruiters 👋🏾 wondering if you think there’s value in adding one’s Employee Resource Group (ERG) involvement at a company on one’s resume. Non-recruiters, do y’all add info like that to your resume?

Sure! Love to see people who are active participants in making their workplace great.

My rule of thumb is always “it depends”, and then folks ask, “on what?”, to which I explain, “the only way a resume is ‘good’ is if it’s relevant to the person reading it.” Literally no one else can advise you accurately unless they can speak on behalf of the potential reviewer. What you may think is amazing, may very well be amazing. Heck the whole city could agree with you... but if it’s a data point that is completely unrelated to the vacant opportunity advertised, the company that is hiring, or the person reviewing your document, it has no business taking up space on your precious paper. This time.

If an agency viewed my involvement in ENGs and the fact that an inclusive work environment is important to me as “taking up space” on my resume, that’s not an agency I want to work for.

Can anyone direct me to a source where I can learn about the 401k program. I'm 7 months in and haven't started yet but I'm also about to get married and I don't know if I want to lose from pay check.

I know I'm a good 4, deep down inside, but I live in an illusion I'm a 5, and always push for it. And i die inside if i don't get a 5 in any engagement or pd work. Why am I like this?

Found out this week an old friend is now having a kid. This person is a good human but for a variety of reasons, they aren’t so great when it comes to anything romantic with the opposite sex (myself, mutual friends, etc). They managed to get pregnant with someone lives across the country from their old neighborhood. Instead of being happy for them, I hate that the only thing I can think is this will always come to mind taking safe sex precautions knowing that it was definitely unplanned.

Anyone getting more interviews or recruiters reaching out by using LinkedIn premium?

Start date is within 2 weeks but background check is still pending. Does big 4 expect that people usually wait until clearing the background check before providing 2 weeks notice to their current firm? I’d rather not resign until I’m totally set

People at strategy shops (e.g., LEK, MBB): any precedent of people making a lateral move from other firms after 2-3 years? High performer but dealing with post-merger internal issues.

I wonder why there are so few MBB folks here. Mostly dominated by tier 2 firms

TFW you advise on a RFP because you are killing your current role, feedback is used, incorporated - and you win the work.

I need some advice. I just opened a third credit card and I have one that I haven't used in two years. I'd like to close it. Will closing it affect my credit?
