Which career path will u choose for yourself and why? Options - 1) CXO of large tech co., like FAANG 2) partner with b4/mbb 3) CXO of a unicorn - like stripe or what Facebook was in 2006/2007, with a huge upside when it goes public 4) start a company of ur own that has a decent shot of becoming successful. All the options will make u rich and yes u only have 4 options.
Only absurd responses. The big 4 assemble in a parking lot. It’s a fight to the death. Who places where and why?
Mini poll - Best firm among Tier 2: (also would be lovely to know why) 💜 - GT ❤️ - BDO 💚 - RSM
I just signed for a 100% raise and promo at another B4 and I don’t even fully comprehend how much that will affect my life yet but I am super ecstatic. I always saw posts about these seemingly out of reach salaries and I would get all sad like damn it’s gonna take me years to get there and then boom just like that I’m there. Unreal. I can’t wait to start.
Currently at B4 and most of my work has been on the international side. Doing a masters of tax law (LLM opened up to non-JD candidates) and find that I’m really interested in what transaction tax / National folks do with memo writing & legal analysis/planning. I know PwC has a group in the international space that focuses solely on planning. Anyone know if that’s limited to lawyers?
Would you leave an amazingly supportive group of people at big 4 to restart the hustle at another big 3?
Hi guys, a prior boss now friend of mine is a partner within the big 4. He wants to ask what is an average salary of a Partner in the Big 4 (Cyber/Tech) with 20 + years of experience since he knows he is underpaid. Anyone got some ranges ? This shall help him renegotiate. Thanks!
Thoughts on leaving Big 4 after one year in audit and going to work in consulting? The firm focuses on financial consulting working hand and hand with CFOs. Pay is significantly higher, and I have already decided being a controller or senior accountant is not the right fit for me.
Anyone transferred from B4 audit/tax/advisory to non-accounting positions in industry? What positions?
Can I work from Canada or India till the time we are remote? I am thinking of working from there for 6 months or less so that I can maintain my alien resident tax status in US. Has anyone done this with big 4?
I recently gave interviews with KPMG and almost cleared 3 rounds but they have put my offer on hold because of my salary expectation .I work with a big 4 currently and had an offer wih HCL so while interviewing with them I told them about my offer .Can I expect them to call me
How do you sanitize fruits in the virus spread. I bought banana, mangos , oranges and later realized i need to clean them up with soapy water b4 touching them back
I am so conflicted about socializing during COVID. My friend invited me to a dinner with two new people (who work at the big 4) at an outdoor restaurant. Where I live, the COVID rate is ~3%. My friend invited the group chat and the two other girls shamed my friend for socializing in a small group during COVID. My friend group won’t agree to be in a pod and won’t meet unless everyone is 6 feet apart. It’s going to get cold soon and I feel like I’m going to be lonely if I don’t make new friends ☹️
Any advice for applying for a new position while currently in one? (Esp. being in one of the big 4 holding co where talent portal will flag you applying for positions)
Just for staffed on a project for my first life sciences client. Know nothing about the industry. Any suggested resources that I can use for industry knowledge? Or key things to google lol?
Currently interviewing for Jr. Positions with my partner. Is it better to shoot for a higher salary and then work down? Or would you just get dismissed for unrealistic expectations? Any tips for handling the salary talk?
Hi all, as a Talent Acquisition Partner that is looking to start expending my Professional education, would you recommend pursuing SHRM-CP certification?
Part time or full time MBA? Not sure if Accenture covers any cost which not working for that amount of time would be difficult based on what I owe for undergrad.
Any books/self help materials for someone who is constantly worrying (and waste a lot of unnecessary time)? E.g. No matter if i pass or fail an interview, there is always something to worry about. The worrying/anxiety multiplies when I proceeded further in the interview stages. Now that I signed the offer and is pending background checks, my anxiety is off the roof as it itches closer to my starting date.
Even with an MBA I acknowledge Wallstreet likes math & cs degrees and consulting started switching where tech has gone to liberal arts years ago. Thoughts? http://www.forbes.com/sites/georgeanders/2015/07/29/liberal-arts-degree-tech/#3f69ddcd5a75
Hi everyone. Starting my MBA in the fall and have some time off beforehand. For those who are in an MBA program or who already completed theirs, is there anything you wish you brought to campus? I’m thinking specific clothes, technology, etc.? Kind of random, I know, but want to set myself up for success. I’m F and will be going to school somewhere with winter.
For those around 110k salary, what is your approximate total credit limit (all credit cards)?
My LWD is 12 June 2021. I know I would not get bonus. Am I eligible to get the hike/revised compensation letter?
So KPMG recently announced asking about current salary is no longer allowed during the recruiting process as of 10/31/17. Only thing they can ask about is expected salary. How about your firm?
I am the partner leading our local office lgbt group. What should I be doing to engage more with our people during this time? Zoom once a month only goes so far I think but I have run out of other ideas.
Two R1 Zoom interviews - one went well and the other not so well. Think it was a good cop bad cop situation. Do they factor in both interviews 50-50?
Any advice on dealing with “work from home”? Aside from execution/writing/production time...isn’t it important to be working together anymore? I like the energy & brainstorming. Makes things better.
It blows my mind how much kinder and more supportive the members of this group are than the Big Law group and the Law group more generally. Like men really are trash, huh? Ive seen the same questions asked/posts in both groups with vastly different responses. See this is yet another one of the many reasons diversity matters in the legal profession. And another reason why women should be free to bring of the qualities that make women great to the table in the workplace instead of emulating (cont.
I’m leaving from 1 firm to another. Can anyone provide guidance on how to handle the 401k? Do I just do that directly with Charles Schwab?
Is 401k matching immediately vested at Accenture? Just got matching this July 1 and can't find that detail anywhere.
Has anyone ever hired an admissions consultant for help with MBA applications? Worth the money?
