Hey there. I'm looking to move from consulting and want to move into a tech firm. I have questions and concerns so I was hoping some knowledgeable Fish out there can help me out. 1) What firms are allow 100% remote work? 2) For my background (MBA, essentially Prj mgmt w/ tech affinity), Program Manager seems to be the title that lines up, does that sound right?

Project management versus program management is different though. Make sure you read up on the job description of any role that you’re applying to and make sure your skills line up.

helpful

Thanks for catching that. I did not mean to imply that I was ignoring job descriptions and was looking for a purely title-to-title match up. Based on the job description, required experience, and qualifications, Program Manager seemed to be a match.

For #1, you can google this. There are no blanket rules and there are always exceptions now. Obviously things change quickly too with Corona. #2, sounds right.

So far, I have not found Google to be immensely helpful. For this question, I was really looking for personal experiences and didn't want an exhaustive list. For example, when I looked up remote jobs, I can see articles about Microsoft doing remote work, but on their jobs page all jobs have a physical location listed. which makes it unclear.

Good questions. Following.

Just as a heads up, program management is very competitive

Also competitive, but I would argue that’s product is slightly harder for consultants to break into because you really have to have a solid technical background-working in true agile, some computer language skills, some design/UX skills

How are most teachers plan on giving assessments to students who are remote learners? My school is everyday half-day for students (guardians) who chose to be in school. All other students are remote learners every day. That means I had classes with students who are physically there as student to are there through Google meets. I'm just trying to see what other teachers are doing to balance the two types of learners and how give fair assessments.....

I recently got diagnosed with ADHD. I'm 31 and found this only because b school and post mba consulting job was/is much more challenging than anything I did before. What I'm confused about is that even as a teenager I could read entire books overnight. But the last two years of high school I started selectively zoning out and the problem has become worse since. I just realised it now. My doctor has suggested treating depression (I was also unaware of this) with Wellbutrin first (contd)

I started a new job a month ago and I think I've made a huge mistake. I wanted work life balance, went to a well-known company that has a reputation for it, and have quickly learned that this will be quite the opposite. I am beginning to panic. How do I deal with applying for jobs, specifically the issue of "erasing" this job from my work history without getting in trouble? I feel weird stating that my last job is my "present" one but is there any other option?
