so apparently now people work second shifts....

Gusto I’m a product designer hoping to switch industries from the public sector to private. I am struggling because I’m starting to see a lot of pushback on the fact that I don’t have industry specific work. So I’m really curious how much working in a specific industry effects your career path.
I’m looking at some fintech jobs but ultimately want to work in hrtech? Like gusto, lattice, etc. would that potentially prevent that switch?

I personally would just make my intentions super clear with them but all the while, looking elsewhere too. Win-win situation 🤝
I say bring it up! If they say yes- you got yourself a full time job! If they say no- then it was already decided that they weren’t going to hire on any interns.
Best approach to the situation is to ask the person you report to for a meeting.
Go in to the meeting like it is an interview- have your previous work handy for presenting, a list of your achievements, and some notes on key points you want to talk about!
Over all, it’s one of those things where it doesn’t hurt to try. Best of luck!
If you’re only a month away they should definitely be letting you know right now if they’re going to convert you. talk with your manager and prepare your resume & portfolio if you don’t have confirmation.
