I never understood what toning up meant but it sounds like you want to lose fat and build muscle. Biggest factor in losing fat is your calories and macros (high protein diet). Figure out what your maintenance calories are (try the Katy Hearn calculator) and adjust your diet/exercise to be in a deficit. I.e. if your maintenance calories are 1700 and you want to lose fat, it will take 3500 calories to lose 1lb of fat. So if you’re in a 350 calorie deficit a day (therefore either eating 1350 cals a day without exercise or eating 1700 cals and adding exercise that burns 350 cals) you’ll lose 1lb of fat every 10 days. You can be in a deficit by just eating less or by adding exercise or both. Wouldn’t recommend trying to lose more than 1lb a week but even that is pushing it depending on your current size.

M here, simple routine for me: jump rope as a warm up (3min on, 1 min rest, 5 sets) then whatever i have for the day and it goes: chest, back, shoulders, arms then legs, rest day and repeat! Lately I started a 40 push ups a day challenge that you will see me reporting everyday when ✅. Good luck!

Hiii!! I am also F and used to be a cross country runner and was kind of skinny, so toning up was my main goal when I got started with Barre a few years ago but didn’t do that regularly until beginning of this year. Highly recommend Barre and Pilates for toning muscles, improving balance and flexibility, and making you look long, lean and fit 🙌
My current weekly routine is
- Barre twice a week
- 2 strength focused workouts with some cardio (Either bootcamp, HIIT, body pump, or core classes)
- 1 yoga, hot yoga, stretch, Pilates, or spin class (I rotate every week)
Now that I have a beach trip in a month and a half.. I’m thinking to add a tiny more cardio and core workouts because I think that’s where I feel I should put a little bit more of work in 😅 hope it’s kind of helpful! 🤗

Hey there!
So before I give you advice, can you let me know how much you've trained before and how often can you train?
Just because I don't want throw you into an overly complex suggestion.
Note: I am NOT a PT or qualified in anyway. I just will be using my experience and what has worked for me
Hit the weights and put on some muscle
