To play devil's advocate, Kellogg is full of Deloitte kids and you don't want to be in a room full of them
Ultimate goal is to go back to NYC? Stay at CBS
Tough call, the logical answer seems to be Columbia but the irrational feelings based one is Kellogg. Personally, I’d stick with Columbia but if your gut is screaming Kellogg… maybe go with it
Congrats on getting into both!
I loved my time at Kellogg. And while the school is definitely bolstering it’s tech product management offering both inside the classroom and at on campus recruiting, I think it makes sense for you to stay at CBS given you’d like to return to NY.
However keep in mind there is no wrong answer here. You will love Kellogg. You will love CBS. This is a great problem to have!
Gotcha. In that case keep in mind Kellogg has the most vast MBA alumni network (~67K). So you will definitely find Kellogg no matter where you go, however CBS will definitely be more densely located in NY.
Best of luck to you
You got scholarship at K off the waitlist?
Damn. That’s impressive
Sounds like I’ll have the unpopular opinion, but imo switch to Evanston. You’ll save a ton in rent/other expenses, CBS networking is crap, and if you’re going to go back to school for 2 years - you may as well be somewhere you want to be. You’ll get to live your nyc years when you graduate

Ultimate goal is to come back to NYC. Admittedly I’m still kinda iffy on the CBS culture and tech recruiting prospects but saw value in the Columbia name, potential for in-year internships in the city, and staying close to family here.
Thanks in advance for your input - this waitlist summer magic is nuts!
Why anyone would want to spend their business school years in Evanston is anyones guess jkjk but just know that your Bschool location DOES influence your network. If you foresee yourself in NYC, CBS. If you want to be in the Midwest, K IMO.
Their campus is immaculate FWIW 😂 but you do raise a fair point. A deeper NYC network is valuable to me but I also want to have fun. Kellogg has done great marketing on its culture / vibes hahaha
