I’m breaking. Each day is a marathon. I can’t afford to drop the ball on any of a million things. There’s no light at the end of the tunnel. Feeling stuck. How am I supposed to get up every day and do this all over again?

Getting married in the Caribbean end of February. Going absolutely nuts with the range of my RSVP emails. Young people “can’t wait, so excited!!!!”, old people “too afraid to travel”. If it were in January I’d prob postpone, but I kinda feel like end of Feb might be ok? And who’s to say if I move it there won’t be another variant. Imagine that your employer is very slow to backfill positions when people leave. Cross-functionally your company is already under-resourced. A fellow PM on your team resigns and your director asks you to fill that role until they can hire. Months go by and you are struggling to manage the work of 2 PMs, while recruitment efforts remain unsuccessful. Do you expect compensation for the extra (temporary) workload, given there is no end in sight? How do you approach that conversation?

What’s everyone’s thoughts on applying to several different positions within the same company? I’m looking at about 4 each with different focuses but mainly revolving around data analytics or entry level project analyst/coordinator. A friend of mine said it’s not a good look as it shows the company that you’re desperate. I really disagree, I feel it’s in your best interest to apply as many as you feel qualified for. Hello, I just had to vent a little and maybe ask for your opinion. So I’ve been working at my job for four years now and I’ve never gotten a promotion. On top of this, I do extra duties that my coworkers don’t do and struggle with the work load. I feel like I’m being taken advantage of and am not sure what to do. I feel like going to my boss and refusing to continue to do these extra tasks without extra compensation. Am I being a baby about this?
