Hi 🙋🏼‍♀️ Accenture moms. Re healthcare benefits: did you select HDHP or PPO plan and why? I’ve been on the HDHP plan for the last few years, which has worked well as I almost never see a doctor, but we’re planning to get pregnant next year and I’m reevaluating my options. How many prenatal apts should I expect? Is PPO better for this? Anything you wish you had known about being pregnant with ACN health benefits?

I did PPO this year as I was expecting a child. I selected it because I felt like it was less out of pocket but admittedly I didn't look into the high deductible plan too much. Some people swear by it but it always made me nervous

I also used to have HDHP. We decided to switch to PPO when we were planning to start our family this year. I was glad to have a $600 deductible which made it worth it to do optional recommended testing. I think I’m glad I made this choice and will likely pick PPO for next year which is when I’ll give birth. It’s so hard to decide!

I personally thought it was very worth it to have the low deductible! The first appointment can be pretty pricey but after that, the rest have been $100 or less each. Just my experience so far, but it’s been good! The only bummer is if you get pregnant and have the baby in different calendar years, you’ll pay 2 deductibles. But then just go in for any other care you can think of when you max out the out of pocket!

Our baby is due soon so we’ve made the decision that we will only have visits from vaccinated family members (not realizing it would be an issue) only to find out that my Dad will never be getting vaccinated, planned to lie about it AND asked other family members lie to us about his vaccination status too… when we found out and asked him about it, he started to FREAK out. Now I’m questioning if we’re being unreasonable… how have you guys been handling unvaccinated people meeting your newborns??

When submitting resignation do you pro rate the number of holiday days you would have accrued? I have leave booked around time of resignation (of which 5 days is PY roll over) so wondering if I can add an additional 2 days leave to the date from which I'm counting back 30 days from ie 20 days normal notice 5 days PTO (starts Thursday) puts me 27 days post submitting notice (wed). Could I add 27/365x 25 day holiday allowance = 2 extra days of leave I can add.

Found a most enlightening work on decolonial history with tons of TIL moments especially about Anti Colonial movements in Egypt, China, Japan and course India in the 19th and 20th centuries. Most histories this period often adopt a Euro-centric lens but this book flips it and tells the stories of these turbulent times from the vantage point of the pioneering Asian leaders like Tagore, Al Afghani, Kang Youwei etc. Lovers of Asian history would surely appreciate this book

Associates, how did you balance your morning sickness and fatigue in early pregnancy with work? Hi all, I’m looking to re-enter the workforce. I had to take a career pause @ the beginning of the pandemic because I had a child. I have 5+ years of experience in life science (bench top, pathology in a hospital, startup, and most recently clinical research). I’d like to make a slight pivot into a health informatics, clinical data or data analytics position but I’m also open to non clinical research positions like regulatory/quality assurance etc. Does anyone have any recommendations? Got covid from the UK , double vaxxed , and symptoms are wildly atrocious. Everyday I have different issues. I went from no fever to 102.4 in a couple of minutes. Blood oxygen dropped dangerously low and bounced back in a few minutes. Chills , cold sweats. My newest one is that my legs are so achey and sore it feels like they were beaten with a bat , just nonstop pain and can’t sleep. Anyone else experience these? Pretty sure I’d be hospitalized at a minimum without the vax

Welcome to our pre-k inclusive classroom. Even with 8 students, and only face to face for 4 hours, we struggle. We struggle being heard through our masks. We struggle with social distancing. We struggle as we find ourselves constantly reminding students to keep their masks on. We struggle to keep them engaged and to teach. One thing we do not struggle with- building connections and showing out love for each child.

I’m buying a home! It’s a little tight but here is my monthly cost breakdown ($9k/mo take home):

$3k mortgage
$500 for 15 months for new floors
$210 for 12 months for roof repairs
$300 groceries ($75/week)
$100 eating out
$150 estimated utilities
= $4260

Leftover = $4740

Investment Allocation:
$2k in HYSA
$2.2k in VTI
$540 leftover just in case

Is this a good budget to stick to? Also I may be able to subtract $800-$900 because I’m planning on renting out a room!
