I’m thinking about leaving my government job for a matrimonial law firm. I was promoted to manager in Jan but received an offer with a 35% salary increase and much cheaper health insurance outside the firm. I am 85% sure I’ll take the offer, but wanted to see if anyone could think of acting I may be missing out on by leaving? FYI my inflation increase was larger than my promotion increase and my student loan payments also were stopped since I’m no longer an SA. I think what is holding me back is my guilt for my immediate team but just want to check.

How did you navigate refinancing loans? I have both private and federal loans (definitely applying for the relief for the federa). I'm going to have to refinance all of them bit I don't really know where to start. I've been holding off because I'm in a contract to hire situation and upon hire (if hired) I'll probably be offered a lower salary.

I am currently working as a paralegal in a small/mid sized firm where compensation as far as salary is limited. Recently I have decided to leave and have started doing initial interviews with very large firms. When the question of compensation always comes up of course I want to say the highest number possible. Is this a turn off?
