Hi all! Anyone here pivot from HR to consulting (big 4 consulting firms)? Would love to hear more about your experience and how you were able to get into the door. I’d love to work in Human Capital Management for one of the big 4’s but I have no consulting experience and would hate to have to take an extreme pay cut bc of that.

I imagine if someone did, they'd be over in those bowls (Deloitte, EY, etc.). Hope you find the information you're looking for - this seems like an ambitious goal depending on your experience.

I am a registered sales assistant which means I have my series 7. I also have the 63 and my Life & Health license. I was a financial advisor but the role is commission only so I decided to take a role as an assistant for some time to learn etc. I really like my role, but I only make 32k a year and after taxes I only take home about 25k. I’ve got a really good job. Wasn’t looking to move but a big 4 consulting firm reached out. I received a very generous/life changing offer. I’m so worried about work/life balance if I take this offer. Also worried about layoffs in a year or two when the market gets back to normal. I’ve got an infant and a 5 year old. I know that I can manage my current workload. I don’t want to pass up a great opportunity but I’ve got to be available for my family too!

Looking at exits into pharma and biotech. Have an opp at a biotech at the SM level. Total comp excluding equity is around $190k; RSUs vest over 4 years with annual refreshers, so first year equity would be around $6,200 and it would go up by $6,200 each of the next 3 years, plus whatever base bump I get. Very good benefits package.

They envision 2-3 years before I jump either to AD or right to D. Solid opp? Or hold out to go straight to director level?

Currently a relationship banker at Chase making 70k (45k base + commission) in Miami FL. Currently licensed with series 6 & 63. Been feeling stuck in role and recently got offer from Merril Lynch for the Wealth Management Banking Specialist role with 85k base . My market director gave me a counter offer to stay and make me Private Client Banker at an affluent branch. What is the best choice career wise? I spent the first few years out of school working in music before getting into advertising as an account person. Quickly realized it wasn’t for me. Got offered a role this morning and upon negotiating salary they emailed me an hour later essentially saying thanks but it isn't negotiable and they hope I consider them for future roles.

I don't think I was overzealous or above market in my comp ask... but was told their offer was market rate. Has anyone else had a similar experience recently? I'm still recovering from the whiplash of it all.

My company went toxic in the last couple months. Chose me and started interviewing. Had a very successful interview with Amazon but recruiter is working hard trying to place me and said there’s no knowing how long to find a team. Meanwhile I just received a Director offer for a company with a 29% pay bump July 1. I’m in a rather peculiar situation. I have been in the HR field going on 4 years, I have over 11 years of management experience, I got my PHR last year and I recently graduated with my MBA with a concentration in HR this month. I am ready for a more challenging role. However, there doesn’t seem to be much available at my current company. However, I am going on 5 months pregnant with the expectation of being out in October. Hello HR folks. Overheard a conversation at work and am curious what is the norm.
If an employee goes out on FMLA, obviously the benefits person sends them the STD, FMLA paperwork etc. But is it the maagers responsibility to maintain communication with the person out on leave and to get a timeline on their return or would that be the benefits team? Or maybe the HRBP?
