Hi all! Curious how many presentations/ intro meetings are in person vs virtual right now. I’m in the production space and most of my sales meetings / intro pitches are still zoom but I’m pushing that honestly but wondering how others are doing it.

Two weeks in at a (contract) client gig and not having Slack (or any form of instant messaging across the office) is driving me crazy.

Account Person: "I miss in-person meetings. They're too short on Zoom."
Me: (clicks mute)

Should we all assume that managers are secretly reading our slack messages?

A female friend of mine recently received a settlement in a sexual harassment action against her employer during mediation. Upon receiving her (female) attorney’s final bill she was blown away to discover that her attorney charged her almost five times what the attorney estimated she would charge for the mediation. (The attorney was drinking alcohol during the Zoom mediation and settled for far less than she estimated she would get.) [continued below]

Is anybody up for a more focused whatsapp group and a weekly 15 minute catchup on zoom on the weekends?

The purpose for this will be that it'll get us to open our laptops and hopefully sit and study later. Also, it might be good to know what others are working on, give progress updates, and solve and discuss problems together.

This might also keep us motivated and incentivise us to keep working hard!

I am noticing how I feel on a given day is largely determined by how my work is going. A minor bump in a work day ruins my mood and I’m miserable. I understand I can’t have everything right all the time but it feels like I’m not cutting myself a slack. I’d like to change my thinking on this but idk how.

Our district voted on returning back to school with students in the classroom and some staying at home. We now have to teach students in the room and on Zoom at the same time. I’m not complaining but does anyone have any tips on the best and most effective way to get this done?

The week before XMAS and it feels like the full moon in the ER. My husband is having an existential crisis, my best friend is crying at work, my mentees are in tears over Zoom calls, partners are quitting - the mental health challenges seem to be on overdrive right now. Hi All, My current employer is filing i140 which should be approved in 15 days with premium processing. However, I intend to change employer after it. It says that one should wait for at least 180 days once I 140 is approved. What happens if I change employer after 180 days and still my current employer revokes my approved I 140 ? Is this possible? What I should do in that case?

I’ve been working on a pitch that continues to get delayed and it’s poorly managed. The RFI was due in July. Then days AFTER submission I received an email from the consultant saying we now had until August. End of September rolls around and frankly I had forgotten about this 100-page beast. They want a meet and greet….the following week. The day before the meet and greet we get a list of questions (that aren’t easy softballs). Now 2 weeks later and nothing. I find myself looking for a new role in agency / production company biz dev. I co-founded a creative production agency back in 2010. Grew it to a staff of 80 FTE, creating strategic content-driven campaigns for brands, tv networks, streamers, platforms, publishers etc. We developed and produced original TV as well. Around 2016 we positioned the company for sale and then sold in Jan 2019. After going over to the acquirer in 2020, I’m now free for the first time in a long time. What to do?
