Cleared the interviews for PayPal and then had the offer cancelled because my current pay/expectations were above what their budget was.
Feeling let down as I was looking forward to switch.
Any thoughts of whether I stand a chance to get a call back from them in near future for another position? Paypal

Wow. McKinsey, which has the biggest public sector presence of the MBB, really hasn't been doing too hot at all in the sector.
Its presence is tiny and it's gotten even smaller. Meanwhile it's bungling whatever opportunities it's getting.

Whatever you do, don't listen tio infosys/Accenture/lti guys when they say it's a great offer. They're so underpaid for their work in their own companies, everything else looks great to them 🥲
Hahaha 🤣
Remeber that if you get large salary in less years of experience your salary will be stagnant later when companies wouldn't have budget anymore. Ask yourself do you have those particular skills that can provide you more packages.
I better like saying things straight forward rather than twisting it with a web of words. Taking the comment back is more like understanding his POV. Take it in a positive way rather than seeing a slap on the face.
for those people who are saying getting high salary leads too stagnant
higher salary will leads to higher saving
lowwer salary leads lower saving
If company has decided to fire its employees it will not care weather you are getting higher salary or lowwer salary.
You are getting almost yoe*5 which is great package IMO.
You can go upto 20 lpa, providing this number based on my offer letter from MasterCard.
I had offer of 25 for 3.8 yrs of experience but it was for data scientist position.
I think it's a great offer and you should go ahead mastercard is amazing too and you can always interview more to negotiate on current offer!
Seems quite low compared to SDE2 salaries. Did you ask for it or was it offered by the HR?
Also CCTC?
Sure will try to get a little better but will keep in mond this is actually a very good company and prospects.
BEST DECISSION IN YOUR LIFE TO LEAVE DS -
So, 1st of all.
The work-life balance in DS is getting bad day by day.
People are leaving the company like anything and don't wanna work because of the policies implemented in India.
DS as a global brand is very good but the Indian management is ruining the organization.
Points -
Poor work life balance. If you join be ready to work late night. Working till 10 PM is normal. Managers will eat your brain and keep assigning you new task and expect you to complete it as if you've Harry potter's stick. Managers are quite old and they think they own the place. They'll make you work till late night and if that's less even on weekends. No compensation is paid if you work late night or on weekend. Too much politics. The old guys plot plans against the new joiners. They want to keep their job safe by playing petty politics.
You've to serve a long 90 days notice period. That is the biggest bottleneck if you want to get out of here. Also the HR or recruiter will not tell you that they have 90 days notice. Neither they write it in the offer letter.
I'm currently working at dassault systemes Pune office, as for roughly three years. And across all teams, what I've seen is widespread discrimination, the 'counterparts' as we call our colleagues from other countries are treated like God, and in turn, they treat their Indian counterparts (Us, here in India) as trash!
They get most of the creamy work, get to make important decisions, while most teams in India does bug fixing and other menial work. And boy o boy the meetings and emails….
I also felt the technologies they are working on are relatively too old and there is no intention of adopting new technologies. Limited scope of learning and such importance given to counterparts means that career growth is also limited for people in India.
Luckily had a good manager and team so didn't have to work beyond hours (only sometimes but that is acceptable)
But yes felt good that leaving for good. Won't consider retention for sure!
Tech stack?
Core Java Developer
Instead of going for sde 2 negotiate for sde 1 because for sde 2 its on the lower end.
Fair enough dont ask sde 1, Since ur ctc is 9 and they offered 14 lpa which is more 50 percentage now only option you crack more offers then ask for more.
I know someone from MasterCard with double your experience and getting 11 LPA. So not sure if your package for your experience is low. And since I know they also tried negotiating when they joined but as far as I know MasterCard didn't negotiate much. All the best
I mean really?
You are lowballing the organisation with your YoE
As per your work experience your salary is great even for MasterCard. It is very short duration to even demonstrate anything significant
