I am based in the US but have worked with offshore teams at both pwc and Deloitte. And in general, Big4 is much more cutthroat and harder than Ibm, Infosys, TCS and the likes.
You will likely work more but you will also probably progress higher in your career faster and will be paid better base salary and bonuses than IT sweatshops.
If you have worked long in industry, my advice would be to continue working there. Big 4 is extremely demanding and your personal life will go on toss. The actual difference b/w your current salar (counter offer) and Offered salary will be around 50k. The real question for you is do you need this 50k at the cost of personal life and are you ready to give 130%
I am also looking to make a switch to a big 4 with an offer already in hand and expecting another one.
Considering that the pay offered at initial level is not that high, is the compensation increase on promotion so huge that you can make 1 cr by the time you reach partner level? Do you mind giving a rough estimate please?
Go for PWC. It's also paying more. Get the best out of the current boom.
