I know we have a thread on this for MBB, but I was wondering if people could give some insight into any retention bonuses/raises/other perks like increased annual leave at their firm as a result of Covid. We got some extra holidays over Christmas and our bonus was paid regularly for last year, but nothing extra. The US bowls seem to be reporting large retention bonuses, so was wondering if UK is similar
My apt building just told us only 1 of 2 elevators will be functioning for the next 46 weeks. My lease ends in April 2022. Can I use this as a leverage point to try and keep my current Covid rent price on my apt? Huge inconvenience
I joined consulting before covid and really enjoyed the lifestyle (travel, events, socializing, afterworks). I’m young and it was a lot of fun. Now this lifestyle has been gone for two years and the only lifestyle is teams calls. I feel..bored? But bored is not the word. What do y’all do outside of work, during the week? My weekends are fun but my week is just work and teams calls… I’m 22 and I don’t wanna stay at home all day!!!! I wanna see the world
I live in DC. After COVID lockdown is over I am still never going to any of the Smithsonians.
This is what happens when you think you’re being careful, but really you’re just being selfish https://www.forbes.com/sites/victoriaforster/2020/11/12/maine-wedding-gives-half-of-the-guests-coronavirus-outbreak-leads-to-177-covid-19-cases-and-7-deaths/

In case you’ve put off getting a vaccine because you’re too busy to leave the house, any New York City resident 12 and older can now request a Covid vaccine at home. https://forms.cityofnewyork.us/f/home
Hey 🐟, flying out in a few days to see parents. Two 3 hour flights. Any recommendations to best avoid possible contact with covid besides mask and carrying sanitizer wipes?
Under normal circumstances (I.e. pre Covid), is it much harder to get sponsored for actually academic courses like MA or MPhil as opposed to MBAs? People might say those are not as relevant as MBAs to business, but MBAs don’t strike me as anything particularly vocational either.
Has anyone had a hookup during quarantine? A guy told me he tested negative for COVID last week but I don’t know if I can trust him - thoughts?
In my town, we have been getting daily email notifications from the school district informing the parents of new Covid cases, usually it’s 1-3 new cases per email/day, the last email earlier this evening, 22 people (students, faculty, and district employees) tested positive!! Infection is spiking bc of the holidays. I am so glad we made the decision of keeping our kids home for virtual classes instead. How is the situation in your town?
Just got an email from realtor for my apt lease asking for open house every Sat and Sun for a month. Can I refuse this somehow? Still very much concerned about COVID. In NYC.
Planning a short trip to Costa Rica. I am vaccinated, but do I need a Covid test to get back in? Any tips thanks
Have your employers made you return your covid monitors/desks if you’ve gotten a new job? How have they collected?
Man, a lot of people really don’t want to get vaccinated. I wonder how employers with large concentrations of resistant workers are going to deal with the mandate
Looking to buy a portable laptop for myself. I’m a data engineer by profession and most of the time spend time on the company machine which is a pretty beefy windows laptop. But thinking of getting a MacBook Pro for myself. My personal machine is mainly used for pet projects, certification exams, online learning and rarely for consultation in academia seminars and freelance work (which is usually in the cloud). Mac is good but it’s a bit on the expensive end. What’s your personal machine?
How would you make the business case for adding more diversity to the workforce. I think we take it as a given that people will support this, but some people need to see $$ and #s to be moved.
Taking some time off. Need some book recommendations. Some light interesting non-fiction. No self help or management books. Just interesting topics that won’t make me think about work.

Thoughts on going back to school to get a masters degree? Is it worth the time and money in our industry? Currently looking into a Masters in Analytics or MBA.
Saw over 15% jump for homeowners insurance vs last year’s same policy. Is this due to high material cost or what? Is this widespread impact on home insurance premiums?
What's the worst industry to work in, and why?
A woman opened a plane's emergency exit door and jumped out as it was taxiing down the runway ...how many of you have imagined doing it?😂😂😂http://edition.cnn.com/2016/11/29/us/woman-plane-jump-trnd/index.html?sr=fbcnni112916woman-plane-jump-trnd0139PMStoryLink&linkId=31692638

Hope to learn more if you bought an apt in Manhattan, or if you decided against it (renting/moving to upstate/Long Island/Jersey). My husband and I are considering to have a baby soon and are thinking of buying and living in Manhattan for the next 10 years or so (looking at property under $2M). Please share what you considered as you were making the decision - I hate throwing away rent but also don’t want to trap ourselves in significant financial obligations. Thanks!
Any thoughts on taking a class at Adhouse while interning at a great agency? It's not a necessity since I have this internship, but I've been thinking it can just help my craft. If so, which class?
Hi fishes! Just joined an FP&A team with no prior FP&A experience and suffering with a heavy impostor syndrome. Can you please help me with what makes a high performing FP&A analyst? My background is in project management for finance, model governance and RRP; Business Admin Grad - Major in Finance. Thanks!
As a UX/UI designer with a non design background (just a minor in interaction design), i find it rough to get more efficient at software. Figma, sketch, adobe CC… idk if i just need more practice since it doesnt come naturally or if im in the wrong field. I fear that at my next entry level position I’ll be fired just because it takes me forever to get digital work done
Anyone here from the Google office in Detroit? Seeing a job I’m qualified for and I’m wondering what the culture of the office is like. It seems like a small office compared to other Google offices I’ve seen? Does it have a cafeteria with free lunch like the Ann Arbor office? 😉
