Many were laid off last year and number was not as high as compared to other firms but it left a permanent scar to firm reputation as well as in the minds of employees. Most of the people who were asked to leave were good folks and they were given reasons like non performer, no trajectory. It's not the number but the way folks were asked to leave was very bad which on turn lead to several folks leaving on their own when market started going up !!!

There is no need for a lay off ,, ppl are leaving on their own 🥱🥱🥱

funny

All I can say is there was a lot of knee jerk reaction by leadership when covid hit. (Low hikes, increment, bonuses, layoffs) They suffered cause a lot of people left voluntarily as well because of it.

Lot of people left volunterly for better careerer and salary, not sure about lay offs- May be 1 or 2 projects

10 precent layoff happened approx in deloitte usi

10% people were laid off last year in Deloitte. Most of them were highly paid with low performance. This happened because Deloitte leadership miscalculated the impact of Covid on revenue.

Its not common, happened last yr only. Though it did left a scar in terms of reputational damage.

In any year from a performance management standpoint the leadership would like to have 10-15% of the folks in the lowest rating scale and put them on a PIP. Out of that you would guess about 5-10% to be laid off. Covid was a off scenario. Thats why they have an issue when the whole practice is 100% utilized and want to have a bench at any point to get those 15% of folks.

Don’t think they can afford to lay off people given the current attrition rates
