Hi All, I have a fully furnished, sun soaked, art-filled 1 BR apartment available for month-to-month rental indefinitely. The space is located right in the heart of Union Square. With noise insulated windows and a tree-lined view, the apartment gets great privacy. I am asking for $2k/month (which is significantly lower than what I pay), but am flexible depending on interest. Building: full service, door man building with elevators and laundry. (Continued in comments)

I’ve done both. I actually don’t mind living in a studio but I think it depends on whether you like to host. I really like having friends over for dinner/drinks or crashing with me for a weekend, so a 1br is much better for that

Currently in audit, looking to do tax returns for friends and family on the side to make a little extra money. Two questions: 1) would the firm have a problem with this if it doesn’t interfere with my work? I assume no since the firm probably isn’t interested in filing my brother’s return (he is a union electrician). 2) I have no experience in tax (I don’t even do my own return), so is there a good software to use for this or what is the best way to learn how to do tax returns?

I hope everyone is taking the opportunity to get out and vote for candidates that are PRO EDUCATION! Our votes can impact us, our students, our colleagues, etc. (By the way, our Union shared how many educators are not taking advantage of voting and those votes would have flipped some races to PRO EDUCATION CANDIDATES!).

My father always talks about how he hit a ceiling in not being able to be the top dog at his company because he doesn't have a phd. The guy above him is world-renowed based on what he's researched and published.
