When looking up qa manager positions I am coming up with 125k-160k, but this would be my first management role and I only make 50k currently. So, the temp we hired for tax season, a senior, jumped ship, giving us an hours notice. I’m in industry, 3 in my tax team & our company is expanding big time. I get it that he was offered a full time position but it was a shock & we are having to realign expectations for tax season. My workload will now double. 🤦🏽‍♀️

Anyone work in IT Global Trade Advisory group? I'm 1.5 years in and considering an internal transfer from BTS Core and wondering if it's worth it. After talking to their SM, it seems like an interesting type of work with less hours and no busy seasons. Allegedly, it has nothing to do with taxes either.

I wake up a happy, optimistic guy and within an hour or two of work i turn into a cynical unhappy guy. I don’t know if I can handle this anymore.

What are people’s experiences or thoughts on a recently promoted manager in MTS making a move to industry, possibly one of the FAANG companies as a manager? Possible or a pipe dream?

We are still waiting for our refund for 1040 efiled in March (still pending per where's my refund) but now realized we're not going to get the monthly child tax credit payments because "Your eligibility is pending." We qualify using 2019 or 2020 amounts (stay at home spouse).

We don't need it early, but have to imagine that countless others are in our situation but don't have the luxury of waiting. I've called IRS at least a dozen times since but never get through to an actual person.

Has any one ever successfully had a big 4 firm allow you to work a fixed 9-5 schedule (no overtime etc) and have it work successfully in client service? Like legit laptop closes for the day and your done.

Are you expected to eat PTO as a manager and above? I and a lot of my colleagues are maxed but we aren’t getting our PTO approved. I’m wondering if this is normal, at the manager level.
