A small doubt - please help. I'm going to join SocGen tomorrow - during March. Will I be eligible to get 100% variable pay. I know it depends on performance but how much ever it is. My confusion is if they would calculate from March to December (only 10 months) or something like that and say only 80% variable pay ? Société Générale
I got H1B Visa and 83000 USD dollar petition amount as annual package.I am confused as this amount will be enough to survive there with wife and 7 year old daughter. My wife is working here and together we are earning 50LPA annual. We are settled here by owning house too.Confusion is my wife will not be able to work there on H4 Visa so the kind of life we are living here will not be possible there.Thoughts?Suggestions?Pros and Cons?

What's your favorite tactical vehicle?
That seems extremely low. I would think someone with 8 years should be closer to 100k minimum
I agree! I plan on asking for that but I didn’t want to be off value
Depends. What's the market? If you're in San Francisco it's low. If you're in Arkansas it's not bad.
Thank you so much! I will certainly have the conversation with them.

Definitely seems low. I also received a lowball offer before for a HR remote position, in the same area (DC/Arlington). Maybe they just don’t pay HR folks much in that market.
I would definitely negotiate and see how high you can push it. You should be able to get six figures if you have been in L&D for 8 years.
I can’t imagine that they lowball hr ppl in that area that low. It’s so expensive to live here. I do know they were seeking people who had between 0-4 years experience so I’m wondering if that’s why. But they are well aware of my 8 and still want me. I will def try for at least 100k
honestly, even for a Tier 2 city that's low
Agreed! I’m in the DMV area. All 3 places are expensive especially northern va bc of Amazon
That’s super low
That’s what I figured but I’m seeing salaries all over the place online.
It’s a candidates market.. use it to your advantage.
I’m trying my hardest. Lol
I’m in the Midwest and that would be a tad low for a specialist title. If you have 8 years experience you may want to advocate for a senior specialist title, too.
That’s a great point! I guess I’ll be negotiating a title change too! Thank you! 😊
FYI…I have 4 yrs of sales training and 9 yrs of military training experience and I’m making $100k!
Wow! Just confirmation of what I already felt. They are definitely lowballing me!
Where are you located? In a HCOL area its definitely very low
Do you have any other offers in hand?
Not yet, but I am anticipating them. I hope I receive them around the same time to use as leverage.
