The only thing worse than sending a client a poorly formatted deck is sending a partner a poorly formatted deck
Team Am currently looking out for opportunities in Service Management or Project Management area Please do let me know in case of any in your organization I m in dire need of a job change
I'm very curious. Have you ever lost a client or seen another advisor lose a client to one of these online firms that are popping up? Firms such as Welathfront, Betterment, Learnvest, Kapital.
Put on a new project that’s a complete mismatch. I do marketing strategy and they have me in back office IT. I don’t understand 99% of what people say. Help! Any survival tips?
Project just wrapped (early) and now I’m on the bench between Thanksgiving and Christmas. Just exactly how screwed am I trying to find a new gig before Xmas? Same approach as normal? Any tips?
I’m on a really difficult project. The other consultants on my team say it’s the most difficult they’ve had in their careers. I’m a new hire and I’m confident that none of my peers have any idea what I’m going through. It’s been really tough. I’m a really strong person but I can’t help but feel unmotivated and defeated. Feeling worn out already.
Anyone have a personal to do list software/program/tool that they would recommend for keeping track of never ending workstreams, tasks, timelines, and status of that work? Keep hearing about Monday but thought that's more project management. What is something good for personal use that doesn't offer collaboration or access to other users?
Technically we’re not supposed to talk about who is our client... how far do you go? My client is a cool tech company and I see ppl I know on site..they technically know that X is a Deloitte client
How do y'all book vacation plans before knowing where you'll be that week? Want to book July 4th tickets but don't want to if I can flex for free/have to fly direct from client
I wish I could hire a project manager to just manage my entire life. You guys are the fucking best.
Partners. Were there stages in your career (Analyst, Consultant, Manager, etc) where you felt things weren’t clicking and that maybe consulting wasn’t for you? What did you do to get over the hump and still find a way to Partner? To be specific, I’m currently a C looking to make manager in a year, and there are manager level responsibilities that I’m struggling to execute proficiently (e.g., asking the right questions to the client, driving work with little guidance, etc)
COVID WFH has put me several time zones away from my client (I’m further west and their culture is to start the day early anyway). It’s a new project so I don’t have relationships built up. How much pushback on morning meetings is reasonable? I know the project can’t operate totally around me but these start times aren’t sustainable...
I work in a Big 4 firm and I'm currently staffed at a client. Can I move to another Big 4 firm and continue working at the same client in, 1. The same role? 2. Different project/different role?
Is anyone in media over 30? What happens after 30? Where does everyone go? Client side?
Client side recommendations for Denver, Co?
If I resign in December and get paid my 2 weeks of unused vacation days will I also get paid for unused sick days?
It’s my birthday tomorrow and I turn 36. I am extremely grateful for the life I have built (particularly to have my health and a job during Covid) and am thinking about goals for the next year. Single, half way across the world from family, financially fairly stable and professionally so bored of my job. Any thoughts/ideas from women who have been in a similar situation?
Is time off/vacation and sick time negotiable with WPP? Specifically Ogilvy NY prior to accepting an offer? Heard it’s only 10 days of PTO. That’s crazy 🥴
I’ve been wondering this but has anyone had any long term health effects from consulting? I think with all the long hours, stress, and everything else that comes with it that it is likely to have physical and mental health effects.
Ex Accenture M/SM 🐟 - Planning to quit Accenture due to various reasons but curious what is the typical hike one get on promotion from M to SM, CDO Cloud First in East Region (if it matters)
I'm on H1B (no longer at McKinsey). Is it possible for me to work in Europe for 7 days? Do I need to tell my company?
Can you tell me how much salary you earn (ANNUAL) and what’s your 401k contribution (per PAYCHECK) !? Just want to get an idea if my contribution is very less or okay. Mine: 137K, $368.
How will the new H1B bill affect consulting? Will everyone making less than 100,000 on H1B be fired if the bill passes?
Hi all, I ‘m trying to decide if I should get a travel focused new credit card. When booking travel via the Chase or Capital One sites can you book packages like you can on an Orbitz type site?
Anyone know what the culture is like at Dalberg? How about the travel. Looking at associate partner role.
Doing a technical interview for a transactions group involving SQL and Power BI. I've brushed up on the two, but wondering if anyone has suggestions for practice cases or practical applications? Any sample cases would be very helpful, thank you in advance
I feel like my 20s were spent hustling and trying to figure out how to “make it” in the world. I took risks and made moves with my own career as the focus. I found a partner who is my best friend and wants to have children with me. Now that I’m in my early 30s, I make more money than I need and it doesn’t make sense to take risks any more. My partner is moving up in her career. My parents are aging and probably won’t live all that much longer. My brother has a disability that will require (cont)

Do Delta and American provide sleep kits and blankets to economy on long, International flights? I’m flying to Asia for the first time, and I don’t want to take up luggage space with my plane blanket.
