Interesting, definitely could be a possibility.
Thanks!

I think networking is going to be your best bet especially since these are huge companies that get so many applicants. When I got a referral at Meta my interview process accelerated so quickly. Try to highlight your data skills as much as you can as well as math and cs coursework. Master’s def helps but there is a huge need for technical talent so I think you should still be able to get hired.

Certificates are nice, but they’re like a cherry on top not necessarily the strongest thing to carry your application - at least from what I understand. If you understand the job description and have experience or knowledge that relates, apply and reach out to someone at the firm to get a referral. Talking to people at each firm will help a lot because they’ll be able to tell you if your profile is out of reach.

You’re right - it varies a lot which is why the process is tough, but keep going and talking to people! That’s your best bet.

What role do you want

Is it generally unwise to switch companies within a year? I just relocated back to hometown and started a new job 6 months ago but I want to relocate again to Atlanta when my lease is up in 6 months. Any advice welcomed.

Do you remember how did you get your first job as a trademark attorney? Where is a good place I should send my resume in AZ, NY, or for remote? New in the States and I do not have such network! Hi guys

Is it worth trying for strategy roles after 2 years in Tech Strategy projects at EY ? Or is there something more specific that I should be doing ?

I am interested to apply to Salesforce in the future, if not now.

Hi there,

I’m having a hard time convincing agencies that my internship experience at the beginning of my career was more than your average person. I won two awards from PR Daily for campaigns I drove, worked 4 full years of internships at 4 companies. First job after grad I transitioned into being Head of Global Social media for a 10k employee company. Proceeded to freelance after being laid off. But they only want to count my 4 years post college as experience. Any advice?

One of my coworkers started complaining that I didn't wear a mask on a Zoom call, because I might "infect the people coming into my house". That so-called person is my house cleaner, and we're both triple vaccinated and are fine not wearing masks. Should I tell my coworker to mind their own business?

Here's a question, I see that you can apply to jobs with just your resume, and there isn't an opportunity to include a cover letter. This astounds me because that's really where a business can learn your values and what you can offer them. Does anyone recommend a way around this? I thought about uploading a two page resume with the cover letter included. It seems a loss not to include that edge.

After three months of job search, I started for 45K at a construction company as a Jr App Support. After a year I shifted in to QA for 65k and now after a year of QA, I have finally gotten a position as a software engineer for 78K base.

The imposter syndrome is finally gone!
