Hi all,
I need some professional advice. I’m a pr professional making 90k with 4 YOE in NYC and an MBA. I’ve been considering moving back to the DC metro area and recently had an interview, and the salary was 70K for the same role but for a different company in DC. If you were in my shoes, would you move forward with a pay cut or keep applying and stay in NYC for now?

I don’t feel like DC is cheap enough for you to deal w a 30k pay cut for the same job. I know DC Metro isn’t NYC Metro but still. You have no idea how long it might take to get back to 90k. It could take years. Unless there are details missing, I say keep applying to roles both in NYC and DC that are in line w what your salary expectations are.

Hi guys! I had an interview last Saturday with the CEO for an EA role (that was the 3rd interview). The company rushed the process for me because they knew I had another offer. The first 2 interviews went extremely well that’s why they rushed & asked the ceo to interview me on a Sat. morning. Huge common point: The CEO and I are both French. The interview went kinda weird… it was less than 15min. Looked distracted/ not prepared. When I asked him questions he barely elaborated. Comments⬇️

I’ve been applying and applying with no luck on even getting calls. The couple interviews I did have were from recruiters. How bad does it look to future employers for an experienced attorney (15+ years) who is pivoting into a different practice area and looking to lateral after only having been at their current/first job for 4-5 months in the new practice area? I've been told by a recruiter that it's not a deal breaker because of my experience level. But many colleagues have suggested I remain where I'm at (miserable and unappreciated - just took a $20k pay cut) for at least a year.

I have tried countless times to explain this but I end up burnt out, everyone suffers including me. I just left one role bc of it and now this new role, same thing. I’m over it.

I recently passed my LCSW exam and I am waiting to receive my official licensure information in the mail. I interviewed for a position that requires the LCSW and received an offer to start as an MSW and eventually adjust my salary once my licensure and credentialing is completed. They gave me the salary for MSW level however, they said they could not tell me what the salary bump for LCSW would be until i have my license number. Is this standard practice for a LCSW position in a clinic?
